Vulnerability Operation Center Lead

À distanceEN
N

About Nebius : Nebius is leading a new era in cloud infrastructure for the global AI economy. We are building a full-stack AI cloud platform that supports developers and enterprises from data and model training through to production deployment, without the cost and complexity of building large in-house AI/ML infrastructure. Built by engineers, for engineers. From large-scale GPU orchestration to inference optimization, we own the hard problems across compute, storage, networking and applied AI. Listed on Nasdaq (NBIS) and headquartered in Amsterdam, we have a global footprint with R&D hubs across Europe, the UK, North America and Israel. Our team of 1,500+ includes hundreds of engineers with deep expertise across hardware, software and AI R&D. Vulnerability Operation Center The team maintains the full vulnerability management lifecycle - from detection and triage through remediation tracking and reporting - across Nebius's cloud infrastructure, product, and hardware stack. The team's focus is on improving vulnerability triaging capabilities and vulnerability data quality, driving effective remediation, and serving as the first line of response for the most critical zero-day vulnerabilities. The role We're building a Vulnerability Operations Center from the ground up and need a senior practitioner to lead it. You'll own the full vulnerability management lifecycle - from detection through triage to remediation tracking and reporting - across Nebius' cloud infrastructure, product and hardware stack. This is a high-impact role with big ownership: you'll define processes, select tooling, work directly with engineering teams, and set the standard for how Nebius responds to vulnerabilities. What You'll Do • Improve and maintain automated vulnerability triaging capabilities and vulnerability data quality through data enrichment (internal and external intelligence feeds), quality metrics, AI-assisted triage, context-aware risk scoring, and vulnerability correlation/chaining. • Hands-on validation and triaging of most critical/zero-days vulnerabilities • Work closely with vulnerability data consumers and stakeholders across the organization to meet engineering, compliance, and regulatory requirements by delivering high-quality, actionable findings and driving effective remediation. • Contribute to the development of internal platforms, including the Unified Vulnerability Management (UVM) system and the security orchestration platform, to automate core vulnerability management workflows and reduce manual effort. • Identify current deficiencies in patch management, drive and oversee improvements across engineering teams and business units to improve remediation efficiency and reduce organizational risk • Own vulnerability intake from all sources - scanners, bug bounty, threat intel feeds, and penetration tests • Prioritize findings using risk-based frameworks (CVSS, EPSS, SSVC, asset criticality, exploitability context, business impact) and reduce false positive noise • Drive remediation accountability across infrastructure, platform, and product engineering teams • Identify, track and report vulnerability management metrics, present KPIs and trends to security leadership • Coordinate response to critical/zero-day vulnerabilities, acting as the primary point of contact across security, engineering, and operations • Define and maintain integration between VOC tooling and the broader security ecosystem. What We're Looking For • 5–8 years in information security with at least 3 years focused on vulnerability management or security operations • Deep familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools and their strengths/limitations in cloud-native environments • Strong grasp of CVE/NVD, CVSS scoring, EPSS, SSVC and how to apply them to real-world prioritization • Experience managing vulnerabilities across IaaS/cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure, or private cloud) - experience with GPU/HPC environments is a plus • Deep understanding of vulnerability sources limitations and corner cases for different vulnerability classes • Able to write and review code (ability or willingness to develop in Golang) - well enough to assess exploitability, validate fixes, and build lightweight automation (e.g., variant-detection scripts, triage tooling, data pipelines for trend analysis) • Strong grasp of common vulnerability classes at the code and infrastructure level. • Comfortable feeding well-documented vulnerability patterns into AI-assisted code review workflows and critically evaluating the output • Track record of working cross-functionally with engineering teams and holding stakeholders accountable to timelines without being a bottleneck • Strong written and verbal communication - able to translate technical risk into business impact for non-security audiences Nice to Have • Experience building vulnerability management program from scratch • Familiarity with container and Kubernetes security • …

Listed on Nasdaq (NBIS) and headquartered in Amsterdam, we have a global footprint with R&D hubs across Europe, the UK, North America and Israel. Our team of 1,500+ includes hundreds of engineers with deep expertise across hardware, software and AI R&D. Offensive security The internal offensive security team is responsible for the penetration testing program, red team engagements, and offensive research aimed at uncovering sophisticated attack scenarios targeting high-value assets across the Nebius Cloud stack. The Role We're hiring an Offensive Security Lead to build and run Nebius' red team capability. You'll design and execute adversarial simulation across our cloud platform - attacking the same infrastructure our customers depend on - and translate findings into measurable security improvements. This is a hands-on leadership role within Product Security Team. You will build an internal red team, establish a penetration testing program, and conduct research to uncover sophisticated attack scenarios targeting high-value assets across the Nebius tech stack. What you’ll do • Build and lead a red team function within Product Security Team, hiring and developing offensive security engineers. • Validate and extend early-stage Secure SDLC threat models via continuous penetration testing , assessing threat severity and mitigation status while challenging assumptions made during threat modeling and system development. Identify threats, which are able to impact an organization's operations. Work closely with Detection & Response and other security engineering teams to run purple team exercises, validate detection coverage, and close gaps collaboratively. • Research novel attacks against GPU infrastructure (e.g., closed-source firmware and vendor driver binaries, device passthrough exploits, SR-IOV/IOMMU misconfigurations, RDMA/InfiniBand fabric attacks, etc.), the inference stack (e.g., vLLM, TRT-LLM), and AI platform managed services (e.g., managed Slurm). Assess tenant-isolation boundaries and how they can be broken at the low-level stack • Conduct targeted assessments of new products and infrastructure changes before they ship. • Deliver clear, actionable reports for both technical audiences and leadership - with prioritized findings and remediation guidance. • Establish red team processes, tooling, and a methodology that scales as the platform grows. What we’re looking for • 6+ years in offensive security - penetration testing, red teaming, or adversary simulation - with at least 1-2 years leading or mentoring a team. • Deep experience attacking cloud-native environments: Kubernetes privilege escalation, cloud IAM abuse, virtualization and container escapes. • Strong fundamentals across the attack lifecycle: initial access, persistence, lateral movement, data exfiltration. • Proficiency developing custom tooling and post-exploitation capabilities (Python, Go, or similar). • Experience running purple team exercises and working constructively with blue teams. • Ability to write clear, senior-level reports with business-contextualized risk (not just raw findings) that engineers can easily use. Nice to have • Experience attacking ML infrastructure, model serving pipelines, or GPU clusters. • Reverse engineering and exploits development experience • Application security experience • Familiarity with eBPF bypass techniques or kernel-level exploitation. • Background in vulnerability research or CVE discovery. • Experience with cloud provider internals (hypervisor/networking layers). • Presenting your security research at conferences like BlackHat/DefCon, etc. Why this role at Nebius • Build a red team from scratch at a company operating frontier AI infrastructure. • Attack surface that's genuinely novel - GPU clusters, AI platforms, multi-tenant cloud at scale. • Work alongside world-class engineers on infrastructure that powers frontier AI. • Competitive compensation with equity upside in a Nasdaq-listed, high-growth company. • Flexible, remote-first culture LI-CP1 Benefits & Perks: • Competitive compensation • Career growth and learning opportunities • Flexibility and ownership …

Staff Engineer, Imunify360 (remote work)

CloudLinux is a global remote-first company. We are driven by our principles: do the right thing, employees first, we are remote first, and we deliver high-volume, low-cost Linux infrastructure and security products that help companies to increase the efficiency of their operations. Every person on our team supports each other and does what we can to ensure we all are successful. Check out our website for more information: cloudlinux.com We are currently hiring Staff Engineers for various projects within the Imunify360 product. Imunify360 is CloudLinux's multi-layer security suite for Linux web servers: antivirus and malware cleanup, WAF, IDS/IPS, Proactive Defense, patch management (KernelCare/Patchman), and IP/domain reputation. It runs on hundreds of thousands of shared, VPS and dedicated hosting servers, under cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin and standalone. The engineering org is 60+ engineers in squads covering backend, core, server agent, malware research, WAF/WebShield, and Patchman. Core services are Python; agents and performance-critical paths are Go and Rust. We run on Hetzner and our own bare metal. Check out our website for more information: https://imunify360.com/ Role Mission & Scope Most complex technical challenges in Imunify360 go beyond individual squads. A single detection change can impact the scanner, agent, UI, reputation backend, and release process. While squad leads own delivery within their teams, the Staff Engineer ensures technical alignment across the product. As a Staff Engineer, you'll be a hands-on technical leader working across the entire product , focusing on the most critical and high-impact challenges as priorities evolve. You'll drive technical decisions, improve architecture, establish engineering standards, and help teams build sustainable solutions. This is an individual contributor role , without direct people management responsibilities. You'll remain actively involved in development, spending approximately 30–50% of your time writing production code , rather than focusing solely on architectural design. While deep expertise in a particular area is valued, this role requires the flexibility to work across different components, collaborate with multiple squads, and tackle challenges wherever your expertise can make the greatest impact. What you will own Architecture and technical direction • Own the end-to-end architecture of Imunify360 as a product: agent server cloud backends, data flows, and the contracts between them. • Write and drive ADRs and RFCs for cross-squad changes. Run the Wed/Fri architecture sync together with the Technical Director. • Keep a living tech-debt and risk register (security / compliance / uptime) with owners and dates, and get the top items funded on the roadmap. Hard cross-cutting problems (examples of what lands on your desk) • Agent resource footprint on dense shared hosts: CPU, memory and I/O budgets for scanning, file monitoring (inotify/fanotify) and WAF, measured on real kernels, not benchmarks from elsewhere. • Detection pipeline quality: false positive / false negative rates, signature and ML model rollout with staged gates and rollback. • Upgrade and release safety across a large, heterogeneous fleet (CentOS/AlmaLinux/CloudLinux/Ubuntu, multiple control panels, old kernels). • Backend scale and cost of reputation, ThreatIntel and telemetry services. • Migrating hot paths from Python to Go/Rust where the data shows it pays off, and saying no where it doesn't. Engineering standards • Set the bar for design reviews, code review, testing strategy, observability (Prometheus/Grafana/Sentry) and secure SDLC (OWASP ASVS, CIS Benchmarks as relevant). • Lead or co-lead SEV1/SEV2 incidents when the cause is unclear or cross-squad; make sure the blameless post-mortem ships within 24 h and its actions get closed. • Drive the AI-augmented SDLC in practice: show what good agentic coding looks like (prompt specificity, context provision, review quality, tool boundaries) on real changes, not slides. People multiplier (no direct reports) • Mentor senior engineers and squad leads toward staff-level scope. • Act as the technical bar-raiser in hiring loops for senior and lead roles. • Be the engineering voice in product and sales discussions: estimates, feasibility, and no dated customer commitment without a written squad-lead estimate. Key Milestones • 30 days: Shipped at least one non-trivial change to production. Can explain the full request path from agent to backend. Has a personal list of top 10 technical risks. • 90 days: Owns one cross-squad initiative with an approved ADR, a measured baseline, and a staged rollout plan. Published risk register reviewed in arch sync. • 6 months: That initiative is in production with before/after metrics. At least one engineering standard (e.g. release gating, agent perf budget, design review template) is adopted by 3+ squads. • 12 months: Recognized by squad leads as the …

Check out our website for more information: cloudlinux.com We are currently hiring a Staff Security Engineer within the Imunify360 product. Imunify360 is CloudLinux's security suite for Linux web servers. It protects hundreds of thousands of hosting servers and the websites running on them, so it sees most large-scale web attacks early — often in the first hours. Check out our website for more information: https://imunify360.com/ Role Mission & Scope At Imunify360, protecting customers from evolving cyber threats requires close collaboration between security research, engineering, and other teams. Responding to complex attack campaigns involves more than identifying threats — it requires understanding attack techniques, developing effective detection and mitigation strategies, and ensuring customers are protected. As a Staff Security Engineer , you'll take end-to-end technical ownership of complex security challenges, from initial threat discovery and analysis to detection, mitigation, and post-incident review. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on practical security engineering rather than SOC monitoring, compliance, or purely theoretical research. You'll analyze malware and exploit code, develop detection and mitigation tools, anticipate emerging attack techniques, and ensure security findings translate into production-ready detections, mitigations, and fixes. You'll work closely with engineering, security research, support, external partners, and the broader security community to coordinate responses and drive continuous improvements in our security capabilities. As an individual contributor , you won't have direct reports or people management responsibilities. All security research and testing are conducted within authorized boundaries, with clearly defined scope and responsible disclosure practices. Your mission is to strengthen Imunify360's ability to detect, prevent, and respond to emerging threats, delivering measurable security improvements that protect customers at scale. What you will own Malware and campaign mitigation • Lead response to large-scale exploitation and malware campaigns: triage, root cause, and mitigation across every protection layer of the product. • Reverse-engineer malware and exploits targeting Linux servers and web applications. • Track campaigns over time, not just individual samples: cluster indicators, connect activity to known actors and toolkits, anticipate the next variant. • Define and run measurable outcomes per campaign: time to detect, time to protect, cleanup effectiveness, reinfection rate. Security response coordination • Own the security incident and response process, both for threats against our customers and for vulnerabilities in our own product: severity model, runbooks, communication, escalation. • Coordinate with external parties — software vendors, partners, CERTs/CSIRTs, abuse desks, other security vendors. Drive responsible disclosure where we find vulnerabilities. • Be the technical voice in security advisories and partner briefings, together with Product and Support. • Triage external vulnerability reports. Offensive security on our own product • Red-team our product and infrastructure. Assume a capable attacker who already has a foothold. • Threat-model new features before they ship; own the security review gate for high-risk changes. • Turn findings into fixes with the owning teams, not just reports. Detection engineering and tooling • Raise the quality bar of detections: false-positive budgets, test corpora, staged rollout with measurement gates and fast rollback. • Build and automate the analysis pipeline: dynamic analysis, honeypots, telemetry-driven hunting, ML-assisted triage where it measurably helps. • Write production code for these tools; expect 30–50% of your time to be hands-on building. • Turn telemetry into intelligence: emerging exploits, attacker infrastructure, trends — shared as internal briefs and selected public research. People multiplier (no direct reports) • Mentor analysts and engineers; raise the security skill level across teams. • Bar-raiser in security hiring loops. Key Milestones • 30 days: Analyzed real threats end-to-end. Mapped the current response flow and where it breaks. Shipped at least one detection or mitigation to production. • 90 days: Security response process and severity model published and agreed. Led at least one real campaign response with a written post-mortem. Baseline response metrics in place. • 6 months: Time from first sighting to protection measurably reduced vs. …
