Product Designer, AI-Native Products (Staff-Level / L6)

À distanceEN
S

Synthesia is the world’s leading AI video platform for business, used by over 90% of the Fortune 100. Founded in 2017, the company is headquartered in London, with offices and teams across Europe and the US. As AI continues to shape the way we live and work, Synthesia develops products to enhance visual communication and enterprise skill development, helping people work better and stay at the center of successful organizations. Following our recent Series E funding round, where we raised $200 million, our valuation stands at $4 billion. Our total funding exceeds $530 million from premier investors including Accel, NVentures (Nvidia's VC arm), Kleiner Perkins, GV, and Evantic Capital, alongside the founders and operators of Stripe, Datadog, Miro, and Webflow. THE ROLE: We're looking for a Staff (L6) Product Designer to lead design for some of Synthesia's AI-native, agentic Sessions product surfaces. Sessions are the experiences where employees learn through conversation, companies lrun a survey at scale, and AI becomes a direct participant in how work gets done - not just a tool behind the scenes. This area is central to redefining what a video platform can be: moving upstream from content creation into workforce development, and making complex AI capabilities feel natural, trustworthy, and effective for everyday users. You'll operate as a senior IC: setting direction, influencing roadmap decisions, shaping bets with Product and Engineering leaders, and raising the craft bar. In practice, this role is about solving AI-native design problems, for example: • Designing real-time, conversational avatar experiences that feel engaging and natural - not robotic or gimmicky - for employees learning and practising skills at work. • Creating interaction patterns for AI-driven workflows that give users the right amount of control, transparency, and trust without overwhelming them with complexity. • Improving output quality through better structure, guidance, and feedback loops - helping users understand what the AI is doing, catch issues early, and iterate with confidence. • Working at the frontier where AI changes what "interaction" means, and the best patterns are genuinely still being invented. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: • Own major AI-native bets end-to-end, from problem framing to shipped outcomes and iteration. • Set a design vision for our "Sessions" surface, and influence adjacent product areas to stay coherent. • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to define what "great" looks like (principles, quality bar, success metrics) and then drive toward it. • Prototype and test interaction models quickly - including novel agentic and conversational patterns - and know when high-fidelity matters. • Raise the bar on craft: interaction design, UI quality, systems thinking, and consistency across AI-native experiences. YOU SHOULD APPLY IF YOU BRING: • Significant experience designing complex, high-usage product surfaces - ideally including AI-native products, agentic features, conversational interfaces, or products where the system takes meaningful autonomous action. • Strong craft in interaction design and visual design, and a track record of shipping work that measurably improves the product experience. • Comfort operating in ambiguity: you can turn unclear and fast-moving problem spaces into crisp direction, and you do not wait for perfect clarity. • Systems thinking: you understand how AI capabilities, model constraints, and product architecture shape what's actually possible in the UX - not just what looks good on a screen. • Excellent communication in design reviews and cross-functional decision-making contexts. • Experience designing workflows where trust, transparency, and user control are central - helping users feel confident in AI-driven outputs rather than confused or excluded. • A track record of tackling novel problems in maturing product spaces, and shaping the product from early-stage bets through to execution. • The ability to leverage feedback from users and customers to ensure the product continues to meet real needs - including enterprise users with high stakes around quality, compliance, and scale. AT SYNTHESIA WE EXPECT EVERYONE TO: • Put the Customer First • Own it & Go Direct • Be Fast & Experimental • Make the Journey Fun You can read more about this in this public Notion page: https://synthesia.notion.site/How-we-work-at-Synthesia-f794caa72f8446efb6be22b551ce0fa2 BENEFITS • A flexible, remote friendly role based out of Europe or one of our hubs in London, Copenhagen, Munich, or Zurich. • 25 days of annual leave + public holidays in the country where you are based. • A generous referral scheme. • Work from home set up. • At Synthesia, you can work from anywhere (within reason) in the world for up to 60 days per year! • A huge opportunity for career growth as you’ll help shape a …

Senior Desktop Engineer (Electron.js)

À distance ✓EN
R

ABOUT US Ruby Labs is a leading tech company that creates and operates innovative consumer products. We offer a diverse range of opportunities across the health, education, and entertainment industries. Our innovative teams are driving the future of consumer-led products, and we're always looking for passionate individuals to join us. Learn more about our story at: https://rubylabs.com/about-us/ ABOUT THE ROLE At Ruby Labs, we are looking for a Senior Desktop Engineer to own and drive a new cross-platform desktop product from first commit to production. This is a high-ownership role with an unusually deep systems component. The application is not a wrapped web app: it captures system and microphone audio in real time, renders an always-on-top overlay across the user's workspace, registers global shortcuts, and integrates with the operating system at a level that requires native code on both macOS and Windows. Our architecture is Electron for the application and UI layer, with native modules and helper processes in Swift and C++ where the platform requires it. You will own that boundary, deciding what belongs in TypeScript, what belongs in native code, and making the two halves behave as one reliable product. You will also own everything that happens after the build: code signing, notarization, entitlements, permission onboarding, auto-update, and crash reporting. On this product, those are not an afterthought; they are a significant share of the engineering work, and getting them wrong is what stops users from ever running the app. You will operate as the senior technical voice for desktop within your team, setting the engineering standard for the platform. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES DESKTOP APPLICATION & ENGINEERING QUALITY • Own the Electron architecture end to end — main, renderer and helper processes, IPC design, context isolation, process lifecycle — and deliver major features within agreed timelines. • Build transparent, frameless, always-on-top overlay windows that behave correctly across full-screen spaces, multiple displays and mixed-DPI setups, alongside global shortcuts, tray presence and low-latency UI under continuous background load. • Design a clean platform abstraction in TypeScript so the macOS and Windows implementations stay isolated and independently testable, and write idiomatic Swift and C++ in the native layer. • Keep the product reliable: defensive handling of unstable platform APIs, tests and code reviews, performance, memory and battery budgets, and remediation of security-review and penetration-test findings within agreed severity SLAs. NATIVE PLATFORM INTEGRATION • Build and maintain the native layer: Node addons (N-API / node-addon-api) and out-of-process helpers in Swift and C++. • Implement real-time system audio capture — Core Audio process taps and ScreenCaptureKit on macOS, WASAPI loopback on Windows — including device change handling, format negotiation and graceful recovery from driver-level failures. • Integrate with the Accessibility API (AXUIElement) on macOS and UI Automation on Windows to read application context reliably. • Own the IPC protocol and lifecycle between Electron and the native helpers, and keep the application working as Apple and Microsoft change their platforms. DISTRIBUTION, PERMISSIONS & RELEASE RELIABILITY • Own code signing and notarization on macOS — hardened runtime, entitlements, nested binary signing, provisioning profiles — and Authenticode signing, SmartScreen reputation and antivirus false positives on Windows. • Design the permission onboarding flow — microphone, system audio, screen recording, accessibility — so that grant rates stay high and failure states are recoverable. • Build and maintain the release pipeline: CI matrix builds, signing from CI with HSM-backed certificates, auto-update, staged rollout and rollback. • Own crash reporting and production telemetry for the desktop client, and act on what it tells you. QUALIFICATIONS • 6+ years of software engineering experience, including production-grade TypeScript/Node.js. • 3+ years building and shipping Electron applications to real end users, not internal tools or proofs of concept. • Hands-on native macOS development in Swift and/or Objective-C, with AppKit and at least one system-level framework such as Core Audio, AVFoundation, ScreenCaptureKit, or the Accessibility API. • Practical experience writing native Node addons (N-API / node-addon-api) or bundling and communicating with out-of-process native helpers. • Demonstrated experience with macOS code signing, notarization, entitlements, and the TCC permission model — you have debugged a rejected notarization and know how to read the log. • Working knowledge of the Windows desktop platform: Win32 APIs, Authenticode signing, and the practical realities of SmartScreen and antivirus reputation. • Strong grasp of multi-process architecture, IPC, and debugging issues that only …

Head of Product - Trust & Compliance (f/m/x) - remote

À distance ✓EN

Founded in 2017, refurbed is Europe’s fastest-growing marketplace for refurbished products, active in 23 European countries and having surpassed €2Bn in GMV — all while being profitable. With beautiful headquarters in Vienna, we operate as a remote-first company and have been recognised as a Top DACH Employer by Kununu for four consecutive years. Our mission is to make sustainable consumption the easy choice by enabling customers to buy products up to 40% cheaper while significantly reducing CO₂ emissions. If you thrive in an environment that values momentum, ownership, and impact, you’ll feel at home here. We’re a fast-paced, high-performance team that works hard and challenges itself everyday. To enable this high-performance every team member enjoys full autonomy over their location (we’re remote-first). At refurbed, we make refurbished products a trusted alternative to buying new. We’re looking for a Head of Product – Trust & Compliance to lead the product teams that help customers buy with confidence, receive what they expect, and get effective support when something goes wrong. The Role: You will own the product vision, strategy, and team development for an area spanning Delivery & Returns, Customer Success, and Compliance . Reporting to the VP of Product, you will develop Product Managers and the design capabilities within your area, working closely with Engineering, Analytics, Customer Service, Operations, Finance, and Legal. You will connect customer needs, operational processes, and business requirements into a clear strategy and measurable priorities. Your goal is to make trust part of how the marketplace works: reliable customer journeys, effective issue resolution, and scalable systems that support responsible growth. You will help teams move beyond individual requests to solve the underlying problems, improve customer outcomes, and reduce avoidable operational work. WHO YOU ARE: • Significant product management experience, typically +8 years, including +2 years of directly managing and developing Product Managers and leading across multiple squads. • A track record of creating clear product direction in complex areas involving customer-facing experiences, internal systems, and operational processes. • Experience delivering measurable improvements in one or more relevant domains: post-purchase journeys, customer service, delivery and returns, payments, risk, or compliance-related products. • Strong people leadership: you can coach experienced ICs, give direct feedback, address performance gaps, and delegate meaningful ownership. • Strong product and UX judgment, with the ability to help teams turn complex requirements into simple, usable experiences. • Analytical fluency and the ability to connect customer outcomes, operational performance, and business impact. • Technical fluency: you can reason with Engineering about integrations, data quality, dependencies, failure modes, and the trade-offs between building and buying. • Strong stakeholder management and clear communication, including when priorities conflict or a requirement is non-negotiable. • Motivation to contribute to sustainable consumption and comfort working in a remote, asynchronous environment. Location & eligibility: This role is open to candidates based in Europe (including UK) only with a valid right to work. WHAT YOU'LL DO: • Set the direction: turn company strategy into a clear product strategy for Trust & Compliance, with explicit priorities, trade-offs, and measurable outcomes across squads. • Lead and develop people: coach Product Managers and designers, raise the bar for product judgment and execution, and build clear ownership so teams can work independently. • Improve the experience after purchase: help customers navigate delivery, returns, refunds, and support with greater clarity and less effort. • Build scalable service capabilities: partner with Customer Service and Operations to prevent recurring problems, improve self-service, and make internal tools and workflows more effective. • Embed compliance into product development: work with Legal and relevant specialists to turn requirements into practical customer experiences, reliable controls, and maintainable systems. • Balance customer and business outcomes: make informed trade-offs between customer trust, service quality, cost to serve, risk, and delivery speed. • Create cross-functional alignment: clarify responsibilities and dependencies across Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Legal, and other product areas. • Strengthen discovery and learning: combine customer and seller research, operational feedback, product data, and experiments to identify the most valuable problems. HELPFUL, BUT NOT REQUIRED: • Marketplace or e-commerce experience. • Experience partnering with Legal, Finance, or risk specialists. • We value strong product leadership and the ability to learn a domain over expertise in every part of this scope. WHY YOU …
