Senior AI Engineer (f/m/x)

À distance ✓EN

Founded in 2017, refurbed is Europe’s fastest-growing marketplace for refurbished products, active in 23 European countries and having surpassed €2Bn in GMV — all while being profitable. With beautiful headquarters in Vienna, we operate as a remote-first company and have been recognised as a Top DACH Employer by Kununu for four consecutive years. Our mission is to make sustainable consumption the easy choice by enabling customers to buy products up to 40% cheaper while significantly reducing CO₂ emissions. If you thrive in an environment that values momentum, ownership, and impact, you’ll feel at home here. We’re a fast-paced, high-performance team that works hard and challenges itself everyday. To enable this high-performance every team member enjoys full autonomy over their location (we’re remote-first). Lead the design and delivery of internal AI tools and systems that support refurbed’s transformation into an AI-native company. As a Senior Backend Engineer for internal AI, you will own the services, integrations, and deployment pathways that take internal tools from prototype to secure, reliable full-scale internal deployment. You will partner closely with the Head of Internal Technology & AI, who owns the strategy and AI and IT portfolio, to assess technical feasibility, prioritise initiatives, and deliver solutions while collaborating with our core platform Engineering teams. Success will be measured by how effectively internal tools reach and perform , and by clear visibility into what is running, who owns it, what outcomes it drives, and what it costs. WHO YOU ARE: • You are an experienced senior backend engineer with a strong track record of building and operating production systems in Go, Python, or a similar language. You are comfortable owning services end to end, from architecture and deployment to secrets management, monitoring, and ongoing reliability. • You have built AI- or LLM-powered applications for production use. You understand the full lifecycle, including model integration, evaluation, observability, and responding when systems fail in production. • You are confident working with modern AI development tools and keep up with the rapidly evolving ecosystem. You have hands-on experience with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor, and understand concepts such as reusable skills, plugins, MCP integrations, agent workflows, and agent orchestration. • You can evaluate tools and platforms pragmatically and make sound build-versus-buy decisions. • You exercise good technical and product judgment, including knowing when not to build. You can simplify or stop initiatives when needed and provide clear, constructive feedback on AI-assisted applications, what is ready to ship, what needs improvement, and what should not move forward. • You work effectively with non-technical stakeholders and treat internal users as customers, bringing a strong product mindset to internal tools alongside technical expertise. • You take a security-conscious approach by default, considering identity, access control, secrets, and data exposure from the outset. A formal security background is not required. NICE TO HAVE: These are advantages, not requirements. We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every point: • Experience with Google Cloud Platform • Strong Go experience or strong Python experience with an interest in working with Go • Product discovery experience • Experience with corporate IT, identity and access management, or application security • Experience supporting an organisation through an AI transformation Location & eligibility: This role is open to candidates based in Europe (including UK) only with a valid right to work. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Back-end engineering and platform: • Design, build, and operate reliable back-end services, APIs, and integrations that power our internal AI tools and workflows. • Manage a secure, supported deployment path that enables non-engineers to launch internal tools with built-in guardrails. • Build and maintain shared AI capabilities, including reusable skills, plugins, MCP connectors, and a central registry of internal tools, ownership, and costs. • Deliver company-wide AI services and a standard toolkit that helps every new joiner use AI effectively from day one. • Evaluate technical options and make pragmatic decisions about architecture, model selection, integrations, and whether to build or buy. • Help shape the technical direction and scope of our internal AI platform. Security and governance: • Help define a risk-based review framework for internally built AI applications and assess solutions against it. • Implement practical safeguards, including access controls, sandboxing, and controls for model usage and data handling. • Move business-critical automations from individual machines to reliable, supported infrastructure. • Establish and continuously improve technical standards, runtimes, and best …

Senior DevEx Engineer - Infrastructure

À distance ✓EN
P

An Introduction to Primer Primer is the unified infrastructure for global payments. We give finance and payments teams the visibility and control to reduce complexity, improve performance, and capture more revenue - all from a single platform. Backed by Sofina, Peak XV Partners, ICONIQ, Tencent, Accel, and Balderton, we're building the payments layer the world's best companies rely on. Watch our showcase > https://primer.io/the-primer-showcase Read up on our $100m Series C https://www.primer.io/blog/series-c Learn more about our culture > https://primer.io/careers WHICH TEAM WILL YOU BE JOINING? You'll join Infrastructure, the team that owns the platform every other Primer engineer builds and ships on. CI/CD, deployment, internal tooling, ephemeral environments: if it's how code gets from a laptop to production safely, it's ours. We operate the way the rest of Primer does. Remote-first, async, high autonomy, low bureaucracy. You build it, you own it, and that includes running it in production. You'll report to the Engineering Manager for Infrastructure & Data and work alongside a small group of senior infrastructure engineers. What makes this interesting right now is the human-AI development loop. Coding agents are changing how software gets built, and we want someone to own how that actually works at Primer rather than bolting it on. That part of the role is yours to define. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING? • Own Primer's internal developer platform end to end: the CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows (canary, blue/green), self-service tooling and ephemeral environments that every engineer here depends on to ship. • Build the human-AI development loop. This is the most open part of the role: the tooling and automation that let engineers work effectively alongside coding agents, and the patterns that make agent-driven workflows fast and safe at Primer. • Treat developer productivity as a measurable system. Instrument it, find where delivery actually slows down, and ship the changes that fix it instead of guessing. • Take real operational ownership. You'll join the Core Infrastructure on-call rotation and own the reliability of what you build. • Set the technical direction for how Primer's engineers build and ship, and bring less experienced engineers along with you as you do it. • Improve how engineers write code, not just how they ship it. Partner with product teams to make the tools, frameworks and internal APIs they use everyday more ergonomic, and help reduce the friction of building features at Primer. • Build Primers paved roads. Reduce the application boilerplate engineers write, shape standards around how services are built and configured, and own the golden-path tooling that lifts efficiency across every team. • Work in the open across a fully distributed team, making your decisions and trade-offs visible rather than holding them in your head. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR • Strong cloud infrastructure experience. AWS is preferred; we'll also consider strong GCP backgrounds. • Hands-on Kubernetes experience. • Infrastructure-as-code as a working tool, not a buzzword. Terraform is preferred, but Pulumi, CloudFormation, Ansible or similar are fine. Not having Terraform specifically is not a blocker. • CI/CD as a core competency. You've owned the build, test and deploy workflow and preview environments, not just used them. • A history of measuring and improving delivery, using DORA, SPACE or a similar framework to back the work up. • Comfortable owning production systems and being part of an on-call rotation. • A genuine software engineering background. You've built and maintained applications or products, not just infrastructure tooling. • You can reason about what makes code pleasant to work with. This is what lets you build AI and developer tooling that engineers actually want to use. • An async-first communicator who works well in a remote, distributed team. Nice to have: • Hands-on experience building with AI or agent tooling, or working directly with LLM-based development workflows. This field is new, so real curiosity counts alongside real experience. • Familiarity with MCP servers and agent integration patterns. • Payments, fintech or other regulated-industry experience. YOU MAY NOT LIKE IT HERE • We're remote-first and async-first. Nobody is looking over your shoulder, and nobody is going to hand you tightly scoped tasks. You own your work from problem to production. • This role carries real operational weight. You're on call for what you build, and when something breaks at an awkward hour, that's yours too. • The AI-enablement side of this is genuinely undefined. There's no playbook yet. If you want a clear, settled remit, this isn't it. If you want to write one, it is. • Pace and ambiguity are constant. Priorities shift as we learn, and you'll often be making calls without complete information. A TYPICAL …

At Sanity.io http://Sanity.io, we’re building the future of AI-powered Content Operations. Our AI Content Operating System gives teams the freedom to model, create and automate content the way their business works. Accelerating digital development and supercharging content operations efficiency. Companies like SKIMS, Figma, Riot Games, Anthropic, COMPLEX, Nordstrom, and Morningbrew are using Sanity to power and automate their content operations. We're scaling fast and we need someone who can build a sales team that scales with us. This is a role for a leader who gets things done, someone who can coach a team of Account Executives to consistently hit targets, build a disciplined outbound motion from the ground up, and bring real rigour to pipeline and forecasting. Not someone who manages from a dashboard. Someone who's in it with the team. You'll own new logo growth. That means hunter mentality, structured process, and the ability to spot when something's going wrong before it shows up in the numbers. What you'll do • Leading and coaching a team of AEs across EMEA - setting clear expectations, holding the bar high, and giving people what they need to succeed across multiple markets and time zones • Building and strengthening our outbound motion across the region - prospecting, pipeline coverage, and moving deals through the funnel with consistency, whether the buyer is in London, Munich, or Stockholm • Keeping the business honest on forecasting - monitoring conversion metrics and intervening early when pipeline coverage looks shaky • Working closely with Marketing and Enablement to align on pipeline strategy, sharpen messaging for EMEA buyers, and get the team the right tools • Feeding customer and market insights from across the region back to leadership to shape our go-to-market thinking ABOUT YOU You've managed Enterprise AEs before, ideally with exposure to more than one European market, and you know what good looks like. You've seen structured sales orgs at scale and you've worked in fast-moving environments where you had to figure things out as you went - including the reality of running a team spread across different countries, cultures, and buying norms. You're direct, execution-oriented, and you genuinely enjoy building the systems that make a team predictable. You set a high bar - but you know that hitting targets consistently is about clarity and process, not just pressure. • You'll need: • Previous experience managing AEs in B2B SaaS or tech, with experience selling or managing across EMEA markets • Experience recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing sales talent across different countries and cultures • A track record of building structured outbound pipeline processes that actually stick, in a distributed regional team • Strong forecasting discipline and a history of hitting quota • Comfort managing a team distributed across multiple time zones • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment • Background in developer tools, content platforms, or product-led growth combined with enterprise sales • Fluent English; an additional European language (German, French, or similar) is a plus Who we are: Sanity.io http://Sanity.io is a modern, flexible content operating system that replaces rigid legacy content management systems. One of our big differentiators is treating content as data so that it can be stored in a single source of truth, but seamlessly adapted and personalized for any channel without extra effort. Forward-thinking companies choose Sanity because they can create tailored content authoring experiences, customized workflows, and content models that reflect their business. Sanity recently raised a $85m Series C led by GP Bullhound and is also backed by leading investors like ICONIQ Growth, Threshold Ventures, Heavybit and Shopify, as well as founders of companies like Vercel, WPEngine, Twitter, Mux, Netlify and Heroku. This funding round has put Sanity in a strong position for accelerated growth in the coming years. You can only build a great company with a great culture. Sanity is a 200+ person company with highly committed and ambitious people. We are pioneers, we exist for our customers, we are hel ved, and we love type two fun!
