Your mission deskbird is one of Europe's fastest-growing workplace-management platforms – a SaaS success story serving hundreds of enterprise customers and building the operating system for the workplace of the future, well past €10M ARR and scaling with an efficiency-driven playbook. In 2025 we closed a funding round led by Octopus Ventures, with co-investments from NEVA SGR (Intesa Sanpaolo Bank) and AVP, and participation from Alstin Capital, session, and Portfolion. We're hiring a Chief Financial Officer (all genders) to be a true co-pilot to the management team. This is not just a back-office finance role. You will sit in board meetings from day one, own the equity story, lead our future financing rounds and capital markets strategy, and run an AI-first operations function that becomes a case study in how lean a modern finance organization can be. You'll join a small, talented, highly ambitious executive team – and the equity package is designed so that when we win, you win meaningfully. If you are passionate about creating enterprise value, scaling finance organizations, and owning the story you used to analyze – this is that seat. In this role you will • The equity story and funding readiness. You will keep deskbird in the best possible shape for whatever comes next - future financing rounds, strategic options, and long-term value creation. Narrative, metrics, data room, diligence readiness: always current, always credible. When we choose to run a process, you will lead it, working directly with the founders and board. • The path to profitability. You’ll own the plan that takes us to sustainable positive cash flows profitability without sacrificing growth: driver-based planning, disciplined capital allocation, and a sharp view on where every franc and euro works hardest. • An AI-first finance & operations function. We want a hands-on operator on the edge of AI development who automates before hiring, works in the models and tools personally, and proves that a lean, AI-augmented team can outperform a traditional org several times its size. We don’t want a CFO who builds a 20-person department. • Commercial intelligence for GTM and Product. You’ll drive the insights that tell us where to invest: which segments, motions, and product bets deliver the strongest combined growth and efficiency profile. Finance at deskbird is a value driver in pricing, packaging, NRR economics, and unit-economics decisions - not just a scorekeeper. • International structure and tax efficiency. You’ll own our multi-entity group structure across Europe, introduce transfer pricing, and ensure we operate in a tax-efficient, fully compliant setup as we scale internationally. • The cap table and investor-grade financials. You’ll keep our cap table and VSOP clean, well-modeled, and always ready for the next financing round, and bring our accounting to the standard any institutional investor expects - SaaS revenue recognition (local GAAP) done right, smooth statutory audits, and, where a future process demands it, conversion to the relevant GAAP. • Board and investor relations. You’ll run the reporting rhythm, build trust with our existing investors, and represent deskbird credibly to future ones - from day one, alongside the founders. • Cash, risk, and the operational backbone. Treasury, FX, and runway discipline, scenario planning, audit readiness, and oversight of legal, procurement, and insurance. What you need to be successful Must-haves • A transaction-shaped career: ideally PE, M&A or investment banking, followed by operating experience in a scaling company - you’ve seen deals from the inside and know what investors actually sign up for. (Exceptional candidates from transaction advisory (e.g. Big4) or top-tier strategy consulting with strong deal exposure will also be considered.) • Deep fluency in finance processes and B2B SaaS mechanics: ARR/NRR, cohort economics, CAC payback, Rule of 40, the ARR-to-cash bridge. • Experience at our scale and complexity (>€10M ARR, ~100+ employees) - and ideally, you’ve already seen what comes next (>€25M ARR), so you know what to build now and what to deliberately skip. • Fundraising and/or liquidity event exposure , ideally where the story was efficient, profitable growth rather than growth at all costs. • A builder’s ego profile: you measure yourself by enterprise value created per person on your team, not by headcount or budget owned. You’re hands-on and want to stay that way. • Genuine excitement about AI-native ways of working - you’re already using these tools daily and want to push further. • Based in or willing to work from one of our hubs - Zurich, Berlin, Munich, or London (remote within Europe is possible for an outstanding candidate, but hub-based is our strong preference given the closeness to founders and board). Full working proficiency in English; German is strongly preferred. Nice to have • Experience owning or partnering closely with People & …

ABOUT US Ruby Labs is a leading tech company that creates and operates innovative consumer products. We offer a diverse range of opportunities across the health, education, and entertainment industries. Our innovative teams are driving the future of consumer-led products, and we're always looking for passionate individuals to join us. Learn more about our story at: https://rubylabs.com/about-us/ ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a Senior UI/UX Engineer to completely own the UI/UX quality of one of our core D2C subscription products. You are the final person responsible for every UI/UX decision that ships: you self-QA all new UI/UX work against a documented standard before it reaches the Managing Director, and you hold the quality bar for the whole product. Working AI-first, you will also take major features from brief to production: exploring design directions, arguing for the chosen one, building it in Next.js and Tailwind CSS, and shipping polished, mobile-first interfaces. The work splits into three parts: full responsibility for all UI/UX on the project, hands-on development of design in code, and UI/UX supervision of team members. When another developer does the work, the quality is still yours: you guide them with concrete direction, review the result, and drive the task to the same standard as your own. Seniority here is measured by the quality and depth of your work. The bar is high and so is the upside - performance here is directly and significantly rewarded, and strong operators take on bigger scope fast. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • UI/UX Quality Ownership: Own the UI/UX quality of the entire product. Every interface decision that ships is your responsibility, and its standard is yours to define and hold. • UI/UX Supervision: Supervise team members' UI/UX work: set direction, review output, advise on solutions, and drive any task to done at your own quality standard. • Feature Design & Delivery: Own major visual features end to end: brief, design exploration in multiple directions, written rationale, implementation, and final polish. • Design System & Consistency: Own the design system and its documentation. Keep the product visually and behaviourally consistent across every screen, device, and locale. Document the reasoning behind key decisions: the user need, the pattern or research behind it, and the alternatives considered. • AI-Native Design Workflow: Work AI-first: run a disciplined AI workflow from generation to production quality, own the team's shared prompting assets, judge critically when output is ready to ship, and keep the team's tooling ahead of the market. QUALIFICATIONS MUST-HAVE EXPERIENCE • Quality Ownership: Experience as the final quality owner for a product's UI/UX, with sign-off responsibility for what ships. • AI-Native Workflow: Hands-on production experience with AI design and code tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or close equivalents) as the core of your daily workflow, including advanced prompting, and current knowledge of the AI-era UI/UX landscape. • Portfolio: Shipped, live consumer web products with visible craft in the details. Depth of work matters more to us than years of experience. • Front-End Fundamentals: React/Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and TypeScript - enough to implement and refine your own designs in production code. • Design Systems: Experience building or maintaining a design system. • Supervision: Experience guiding other developers' UI/UX work and driving it to shipped quality. LEADERSHIP ATTRIBUTES • Holds a high bar for visual detail - in their own work and the team's - and catches issues before anyone else does • Keeps growing - constantly learns and adopts new tools and techniques • Ambitious - driven to build large-scale products used and seen by millions • Explains design decisions clearly and in writing, grounded in user needs, patterns, or data • Communicates clearly and proactively in a fully remote, async environment Important: This is first and foremost a Product Design / UI/UX role, not a Frontend /Full-stack Engineering role. We are looking for someone with strong product design and UX instincts who can also implement their designs in code. Design thinking, UX quality, and product craft come first; frontend skills are essential for bringing that work to production, but they are not the primary focus of the role. LIFE AT RUBY LABS At Ruby Labs, we move fast, aim high, and expect the same from our team. We’re not here to play small—we’re here to build, grow, and win. That means we look for people who are ambitious, driven, and ready to give their best every single day. This is a place for individuals who thrive under pressure, embrace challenges, and see opportunity in every obstacle. If you’re hungry to achieve, motivated by impact, and want to grow at the speed of your own ambition, Ruby Labs offers the platform to make it happen. Here, effort is matched with reward. We recognize those who go …
