Remote Job Market August 2026: Correction and Methodology

Remote Job Market August 2026: Correction and Methodology

What was corrected

August 2026 edition. Corrected on 30 September 2026. Historical index aggregates withdrawn.

Correction dated 30 September 2026, version 2: This edition’s historical index aggregates have been withdrawn. They used an earlier source population that does not match the current publication policy. This frozen publication contains aggregates rather than the original job-level records, so distributions and salary statistics cannot be reliably recomputed from it. No estimated replacement series is published.

This correction replaces the earlier index figures. Current, dated aggregates are available on the statistics page. They describe the Nomado24 index, not a representative survey of the entire labour market.

Interpreting search visibility

The original Search Console window from 27 July to 7 August 2026 covers twelve calendar days, inclusive. Impressions count appearances of Nomado24 in search results, not unique people or all Google searches. Dividing them by an inventory of job postings does not measure competition per job or a demand-to-supply ratio.

Separating index intake from market changes

A newly observed entry can be an older employer posting, a newly added source or a repeated observation. Comparing intake with current inventory proves neither complete turnover nor the number of new jobs in the labour market. Those claims require stable sources, traceable deduplication and historical entries and exits.

Publishing salary coverage and denominators

Current salary statistics refer to the active index permitted for publication. Coverage counts postings with a stored plausible salary from a source field or extraction from the text. A statutory mini-job ceiling is not an employer-stated salary. Percentiles describe the subset with salary information, not a representative market wage.
