Elastic, the Search AI Company, enables everyone to find the answers they need in real time, using all their data, at scale — unleashing the potential of businesses and people. The Elastic Search AI Platform, used by more than 50% of the Fortune 500, brings together the precision of search and the intelligence of AI to enable everyone to accelerate the results that matter. By taking advantage of all structured and unstructured data — securing and protecting private information more effectively — Elastic’s complete, cloud-based solutions for search, security, and observability help organizations deliver on the promise of AI. What is The Role We are on the lookout for a Senior Java Developer to join our Elasticsearch team and drive our work on the Inference API in Elasticsearch. The Elasticsearch Inference API is the integration layer between Elasticsearch and external machine learning services including Elastic's own Elastic Inference Service (EIS), third-party providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Cohere, Google), and self-hosted models. It powers features like semantic search, reranking, and generative AI across Elastic Cloud and in hosted environments. You'll maintain and develop the plugin framework and REST API with your work spanning protocol design, streaming, async execution, billing integration, and with a tight collaboration with the wider inference team and the Kibana team. What You Will Be Doing • Build and maintain integrations with internal systems and external inference providers, including schema negotiation, streaming (SSE), and error normalisation • Contribute to the inference plugin's internal architecture: task settings, chunking strategies, rate limiting, and provider-level configuration • Review open source contributions to the codebase and work with third party engineers to ensure their contributions meet our technology standards • Participate in on-call rotation for inference-related incidents • Write thorough tests: unit tests using ESTestCase, YAML-based REST integration tests, and rolling-upgrade tests What You Bring • 5+ years of production Java experience, with experience contributing to a large, established Java codebase. You know core Java and are conversant in the standard library of data structures and concurrency constructs, as well as newer language features. • Experience crafting ergonomic APIs and the ability to reason through tradeoffs. • Experience with low-level Java such as concurrency, parallelism, classloaders, etc. • You have a proven track record of using AI to accelerate development, debug complex systems, and optimize code, while still owning the final outcomes. • You possess the ability to collaborate across functions and teams and seamlessly transition between different projects, codebases, or teams based on business priorities • You can work autonomously, drive decisions and results in a distributed team by leveraging asynchronous, direct, and transparent communication. Bonus Points • Knowledge of JDK internals: modules, the Java memory model, garbage collection, database load, caching techniques, etc. • Experience with ML systems • Contributions to and ownership of open source projects • Knowledge of Java build tools (Gradle, Maven, etc), with a strong preference for Gradle experience. • Experience working in a platform team or developer productivity team Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component. At Elastic, our compensation philosophy aims to provide fair, competitive and transparent remuneration. Salary ranges are established based on a combination of external market benchmarks, internal pay equity considerations, and the responsibilities and complexity associated with each role. This approach helps ensure consistency across comparable roles while remaining competitive within the relevant labour markets. The final compensation offered within the applicable range will be determined based on several objective factors, including relevant professional experience, level of skills and expertise, alignment with the role requirements, and the overall scope and complexity of the position. The typical starting salary range for this role is: €87.300 — €138.100 EUR Additional Information - We Take Care of Our People As a distributed company, diversity drives our identity. Whether you’re looking to launch a new career or grow an existing one, Elastic is the type of company where you can balance great work with great life. Your age is only a number. It doesn’t matter if you’re just out of college or your children are; we need you for what you can do. We strive to have parity of benefits across regions and while regulations differ from place to place, we believe taking care of our people is the right thing to do. • Competitive pay based on the work you do here and not your previous salary • Health coverage for you and your family in many locations • Ability to craft your …

ABOUT US Ruby Labs is a leading tech company that creates and operates innovative consumer products. We offer a diverse range of opportunities across the health, education, and entertainment industries. Our innovative teams are driving the future of consumer-led products, and we're always looking for passionate individuals to join us. Learn more about our story at: https://rubylabs.com/about-us/ ABOUT THE ROLE We are building a category-defining document management platform. We are way past the MVP stage, battle-tested in production, recently profitable, serving hundreds of thousands of customers globally. We are rapidly scaling with multiple products and new funnels. Currently, we are looking for a Senior CRO Manager who thrives on ownership, speed, and building things that scale. Not a 9-5. Read on if you want challenge, autonomy, and fast growth. This isn't a hand-off role. You'll own the full optimization loop end-to-end: deep funnel analysis, hypothesis generation, high-fidelity wireframes and visual specs, working directly with engineers, and the performance outcomes that follow. We are not just looking at landing page optimizations, in this role you'll be working across the entire user journey, from acquisition through activation, retention, and monetization. The pace is fast and iterative. We ship in days, learn, and keep the engine running. We've built a compensation structure that directly rewards people who exceed targets. Top performers see meaningful financial upside tied to their impact. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Own end-to-end optimization cycles: research hypothesis design test rollout, while keeping the cycles short. • Use AI tools daily to accelerate research, ideation, design, analysis, and documentation. This is core to how we work, not an afterthought. • Perform deep funnel and product analysis across the full user journey - acquisition, activation, retention, monetization - plus competitive benchmarking to surface high-impact opportunities. • Design high-fidelity wireframes and visual specs that clearly communicate your vision while protecting brand integrity. We're a code-first team - design is built in Next.js and TailwindCSS, not Figma. • Partner with engineers to ensure flawless test implementation and rapid deployment. • Analyze results with statistical rigor and make confident scaling decisions. • Document learnings and maintain a continuously prioritized testing roadmap. • Present insights and results clearly to stakeholders, building alignment and momentum. QUALIFICATIONS • Proven CRO results: 3+ years of hands-on CRO experience, ideally with subscription or SaaS funnels, with documented performance lifts. • Funnel + product thinking: You don't just optimize landing pages. You think about the full user journey and how product decisions compound with funnel decisions. • AI-native workflow: You actively integrate AI into your daily process - prompting, prototyping, analyzing, drafting - and have opinions about what actually works. Almost a must. • Design taste: Strong UI/UX sensibility and the ability to recognize and create ideas that convert. You can build compelling, detailed visual specs yourself. • Speed and iteration: Bias for shipping. You'd rather get two well-designed tests live today than one perfect test in a week, and you keep the cycle moving. • Analytical depth: Skilled in Mixpanel, GrowthBook, Google Analytics, or similar. • Execution excellence: Remarkable attention to detail in fast-moving environments. • Ownership: Self-driven, proactive, fully accountable for outcomes. • Fluent English: strong written and verbal communication. NICE TO HAVE • Exposure to marketing attribution models, UTM parameters, and ROAS measurement. • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute quickly. • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Kubernetes Technical & Release Leadership • Provide technical direction for k0s and related projects while working collaboratively with maintainers and the broader community. • Participate directly in architecture and design discussions, code and pull-request reviews, issue triage, debugging, and technical decision making. • Maintain deep expertise in Kubernetes architecture, control-plane components, lifecycle management, networking, storage, security, scheduling, and distributed systems. • Track upstream Kubernetes development and ensure relevant capabilities, architectural changes, deprecations, and requirements are incorporated into the k0s roadmap. • Drive engineering quality across testing, CI/CD, release engineering, upgradeability, security, observability, performance, and operational reliability. • Balance architectural improvement and technical debt against features, community needs, ecosystem evolution, and Mirantis product requirements. Open Source, CNCF & Community Leadership • Act as a senior maintainer and visible technical leader within the k0s and k0smotron open source communities. • Partner with the Community Manager and project maintainers to drive k0s through CNCF maturity from Sandbox through Incubation toward Graduation. Required • Significant professional software engineering experience (10+ years desired), including experience leading senior engineers and open source development teams. • Deep, hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes, its architecture, control plane, and the underlying Linux, container, networking, storage, and distributed-systems technologies. • Demonstrated experience designing, building, debugging, or operating Kubernetes infrastructure beyond simply consuming managed Kubernetes services. • Strong experience with Go and the ability to review and contribute to production-quality Go code. • Experience working effectively through GitHub-based open source development workflows including issues, pull requests, reviews, CI, releases, and community discussions. • Demonstrated technical leadership in architecture, design reviews, mentoring, technical decision making, and driving complex engineering work to completion. • Strong written and verbal English communication skills. • Ability to operate effectively in a globally distributed, asynchronous engineering organization.
