This role is part of our Central Platform Engineering Team at saas.group . What is saas.group? Think of us as the driving catalyst behind your favorite software success stories. saas.group, established in 2017, is on a mission to turbocharge promising B2B SaaS ventures, unlocking their full potential. As a Software-as-a-Service portfolio powerhouse, we specialize in acquiring small software treasures and polishing them into industry stars. With a dynamic, fully remote team of nearly 350+ colleagues spanning 50+ countries we are truly global and we are rewriting the playbook on SaaS innovation and collaboration. We grow 23 exciting brands under our umbrella. Feel free to explore our Candidate's Hub to get an insider's view, dive into our culture, gain valuable insights into our teams and how we work. Also, don’t forget to follow saas.group on LinkedIn to stay up-to-date on our job openings, podcast episodes, and with all things happening at our company. Profile Overview Our Platform Engineering team runs central infrastructure services and partners with brands to modernize their stacks. The mission: provide a “paved road” of opinionated best practices (observability, backups, CI/CD, infra as code) that brands can adopt quickly, and support hands-on migrations when needed. You’ll own outcomes for a set of brands: assess where they are, recommend what “good” looks like, and implement the plan. The role blends architecture, enablement, and practical engineering. It’s senior and autonomous: you’ll advise and sometimes convince stakeholders, then deliver. Your immediate impact in the first 3-6 months will be: • Complete central onboarding by pairing with a team member for ~2 weeks to learn our patterns and tooling, then start managing the brands assigned to you. • Lead the onboarding of at least one brand to our “paved road” standards (GitHub org, CI/CD, monitoring/observability, IaC), with positive feedback from brand leadership and our team. • Deliver one or more migrations/refactors (e.g., CI/CD, infra modernization, cost/availability improvements) and document decisions so others can build on them. Your responsibilities • Lead infrastructure projects for assigned brands: migrations, performance & reliability improvements, incident response practices, containerization, and cloud cost optimizations. • Establish/upgrade CI/CD, infra as code, monitoring, alerting, and SLO-aligned dashboards; baseline and improve reliability with data. • Advise brand CTOs/engineering leads on trade-offs and architecture; justify decisions with clear reasoning and measurable outcomes. • Contribute to and consume central services (e.g., observability, backups) so brands don’t reinvent the wheel. • Collaborate with developers as part of the product team during engagements; troubleshoot across app and infra boundaries. • Bring AI into the paved road itself: use tools like Claude Code or Codex daily to speed up IaC, scripting, and incident diagnosis, and help brand teams pick up the same habits in their own workflows. • Participate in an on-call rotation (lightweight today; scaling toward a fair, shared model). What You bring to the table • 5+ years of experience in Platform or Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering roles, operating at a senior level with strong ownership and autonomy. • Deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (ideally Terraform). • Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and best practices; able to assess, design, and modernize pipelines across diverse brand environments. • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, New Relic, ELK, Prometheus, or similar) and sound judgment on what “good” looks like. • Hands-on, daily use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, or similar) in real infra work, not just curiosity about them; comfortable coaching brand teams on how to use them well. • A background in software development or the ability to read and debug application code. • Excellent communication and consulting skills; confident in advising and influencing technical stakeholders while adapting to different teams and tech stacks. What’s in it for You • Ultimate flexibility: We’re 100% remote. You can work from wherever you like, whenever you like. • Freedom and autonomy: We’re a high-trust team, and you’ll be given lots of flexibility to solve problems in your own way — with plenty of help from the team when you need it. • Minimum bureaucracy: We don’t like to get bogged down with meetings and red tape. We like to be efficient and keep momentum steady & sustainable. • Small & friendly team: We help each other out, have fun, and joke around. • Our network: We are a community of entrepreneurial SaaS professionals that regularly exchange ideas, knowledge, learning and expertise with each other internally. • Flexible time off: We want you to recharge your batteries when …

This role is part of our ScraperAPI team, one of our growing brands at saas.group . ScraperAPI is an enterprise-scale web scraping solution, trusted by businesses across a wide range of industries to extract crucial data at scale. From e-commerce, travel to real estate and market research, we support companies in turning the web into actionable insights. We're currently on an exciting growth journey, scaling rapidly as demand for reliable, high-performance web scraping and data keeps rising. Profile Overview This is the hard end of web scraping. The sites we rely on, Google, Amazon, Walmart and many others, actively work to block us, and they change the rules without warning. We're looking for a senior engineer who can go deep on why we're being blocked, work out how the detection actually functions, and design repeatable ways around it. You'll be joining a self-driven, high-autonomy team to take on our most involved problems, with the room and the trust to build something from close to a blank page: an environment that turns one-off breakthroughs into a methodical, repeatable way of defeating anti-bot systems. If you like confronting problems that genuinely resist you, and you work methodically rather than by trial and error, this is an unusually open brief. Your immediate impact in the first 3-6 months will be: • Getting a full local environment running and becoming fluent in our systems and how they operate, in the first few weeks. • Contributing to a proposal on the design for a repeatable environment we can pose anti-bot problems to and get reliable analysis out of. • Building that environment out over the following months so that, by month six, we can point it at a target or provider and have it reliably tell us how we're being blocked and what is and isn't being used against us. Your responsibilities • Analyse how specific anti-bot and bot-mitigation systems (the likes of DataDome, Cloudflare Turnstile, Kasada, PerimeterX and Akamai) detect and block us, and design systems to work around them. • Turn isolated breakthroughs into durable, repeatable processes: hypothesis, test, discard what's wrong, move on. • In collaboration with other senior team members, design and build a greenfield agentic environment that can propose and run tests on anti-bot behaviour and bypass approaches, and do it in a way that's well understood and repeatable. • Work largely independently on deep, concentrated problems, while actively pulling in knowledge from across the wider engineering team. • Communicate clearly what you plan to do, and step into major incidents when the team needs your depth. What you bring to the table • Deep, genuine understanding of how the internet works underneath: HTTP, TLS and fingerprinting, proxies, headers, cookies, and browser behaviour. This is the core of the role and it isn't something we can shortcut. • Excellent problem-solving built on a scientific, methodical approach: you form a hypothesis, design a test, read the result honestly, and iterate. Trying things at random is the opposite of what this role needs. • Strong hands-on skills in our stack, Node.js and TypeScript with solid Python, and comfort across backend systems at scale (Postgres, Redis/Valkey, MongoDB, Puppeteer/Camoufox, Kubernetes). • Real skill at directing AI coding agents with precision, and the judgement to tell strong output from weak. The specific tool doesn't matter (Claude, Codex or similar); knowing how to steer it well is what counts. • A background that has given you this kind of depth and rigour. That might be scraping, anti-bot or web-security work, reverse engineering, or a research or academic path where you built your own tooling and lived by the scientific method. Direct scraping experience is a strong plus rather than a strict requirement. • Independence and strong communication: you're comfortable owning hard problems in a remote-first team with little hand-holding, and you keep the team in the loop on your thinking as you go. What's in it for you • Ultimate flexibility: We're 100% remote. You can work from wherever you like, whenever you like. • Freedom and autonomy: We're a high-trust team, and you'll be given lots of flexibility to solve problems in your own way, with plenty of help from the team when you need it. • Minimum bureaucracy: We don't like to get bogged down with meetings and red tape. We like to be efficient and keep momentum steady & sustainable. • Small & friendly team: We help each other out, have fun, and joke around. • Our network: We are a community of entrepreneurial SaaS professionals that regularly exchange ideas, knowledge, learning and expertise with each other internally. • Flexible time off: We want you to recharge your batteries when needed. ScraperAPI is part of saas.group and we have a shared goal of succeeding together. What is saas.group? For nearly a decade, Prerender has empowered marketers to create dynamic, complex sites at scale, making their JavaScript websites easily indexable by search engines. We eliminate indexing and crawling limitations, allowing our customers to gain the upper-hand on HTML sites and rank higher on SERPs. More than 100,000 websites around the globe trust Prerender to serve more than 2.7 billion web pages to crawlers to improve organic search ranking. Profile Overview As a Staff Engineer at Prerender , you amplify effectiveness across teams, systems, and practices. You’re deeply hands-on, but your biggest impact comes from enabling others to move faster, safer, and with greater confidence. You lead major architectural evolutions, coach engineers in XP principles, and help teams make sound technical decisions that scale across the organization. This role combines strategic thinking with practical execution; you’ll shape the technical direction of our distributed rendering platform, align teams on shared goals, and create the conditions for consistent, high-quality delivery. If you’re motivated by simplifying complexity, raising the bar for technical excellence, and empowering others to do their best work, you’ll thrive here. What You’ll Do • Lead by doing: Contribute to core systems while modeling high standards in code quality, testing, and design. • Guide architectural evolution: Drive cross-team initiatives that move our systems toward simplicity, scalability, and testability. • Coach and mentor: Support engineers at all levels through pairing, design reviews, and hands-on coaching in XP practices. • Simplify complexity: Design elegant solutions to deep technical challenges in performance, reliability, and distributed rendering. • Unblock and empower: Spot risks early, resolve systemic bottlenecks, and establish good defaults that let teams move quickly and confidently. • Champion sustainable quality: Promote practices like TDD, pair programming, and continuous delivery to keep development fast without sacrificing stability. • Align strategy and execution: Partner with product and leadership to balance short-term delivery with long-term technical health. How We Work At Prerender, Staff Engineers influence through context, coaching, and example. You don’t gatekeep, you unblock, empower, and guide. • Influence through impact: You lead architectural direction and help teams make sound trade-offs that scale across systems and squads. • Think in systems: You see the connections between teams, technologies, and workflows, and help align them toward cohesive solutions. • Build shared context: You create clarity across teams, helping others understand not just what we’re building, but why . • Improve the ecosystem: You refine tooling, automation, and engineering practices that raise effectiveness across the organization. • Model balance: You help the org sustain both fast delivery and long-term maintainability. A Typical Day Might Involve • Pairing with a team to untangle a tricky performance issue or refactor a shared library • Leading a design discussion that impacts multiple services or teams • Coaching an engineer through an architectural decision or trade-off • Collaborating with product and leadership to align technical investments with business goals • Reviewing code and providing thoughtful, actionable feedback • Improving CI/CD pipelines or internal tooling to make development smoother and safer • Helping define patterns, guardrails, or “good defaults” that raise consistency across teams What We’re Looking For • Proven experience: 10+ years designing and shipping complex, distributed systems • Architectural leadership: A track record of leading large-scale technical initiatives that simplified and strengthened core systems • Deep technical skill: Expertise in modern backend development - ideally in TypeScript/Node.js or Golang, plus familiarity with AWS and cloud-native infrastructure • Systems thinking: The ability to see across layers of the stack, connecting product goals with technical architecture • Coaching mindset: You elevate others through context, guidance, and example • Strategic clarity: You balance short-term priorities with long-term sustainability and technical health • Strong communicator: You make complex ideas clear to both technical and non-technical audiences • Bias for improvement: You’re always looking for ways to make systems, teams, and practices better Bonus if you’ve worked in SEO, web performance, or large-scale rendering infrastructure, but curiosity and adaptability matter more than specific domain expertise. What’s in it for You • Ultimate flexibility: We’re 100% remote. You can work from wherever you like, whenever you like. • Freedom and autonomy: We’re a high-trust team, and you’ll be given lots of flexibility to solve problems in your own way — with …

Profile Overview We recently acquired Traject Data, home of SerpWow and Rainforest API, and now run an end-to-end data pipeline: from proxy and scraping infrastructure through to structured, ready-to-use data APIs. The next chapter is turning that into one coherent, AI-native platform and we're looking for a CTPO to lead the combined 25-person product and engineering org through it. You'll report directly to the CEO, sit at the leadership table, and be the person who understands the stack down to the proxy layer while also setting where the product goes next. Your immediate impact in the first 3-6 months will be: • Get hands-on with the heart of the product: proxy dynamics and anti-bot evasion, working directly with our Head of Ops to optimise vendor relationships and build up capacity. • Build real fluency in the product and the backend so you can operate as a genuine technical sparring partner to the CEO, not just receive direction. • Start bringing the ScraperAPI and Traject Data infrastructure together on a coherent technical roadmap Your responsibilities • Own end-to-end product and technology strategy across our scraping infrastructure, proxy networks, and structured data API products (ScraperAPI, SerpWow, Rainforest API). • Lead, scale, and develop a 25+ person product and engineering organisation spanning multiple countries and time zones, building the management structure it needs as it grows. • Set technical architecture direction for high-scale, high-reliability infrastructure, including proxy management, anti-bot evasion, and large-scale scraping systems. • Drive AI and modern ML tooling into both the product itself and how the team builds and ships it. • Define and execute one product roadmap across the merged ScraperAPI and Traject Data lines. • Represent product and technology to the board, and work closely with the CEO and commercial leadership to keep product direction and business strategy aligned. • Stay close enough to the code and infrastructure to go in and troubleshoot, fix, or challenge a technical decision yourself when it matters. What You bring to the table • Experience leading product and/or engineering at a highly technical company (CTO, CPO, VP Engineering or similar), at a 25+ person org or larger • Real hands-on depth in web scraping, proxies, or closely adjacent infrastructure. You understand the operational reality of this space and you don't rattle when a source breaks overnight and it's suddenly all hands on deck • A genuine track record with AI/ML, both shaping AI-powered product capability and pushing AI-native ways of working through an engineering team • Experience owning product vision and technical architecture together, not just one side of that line • Comfort operating at board level: a clear communicator who can hold their own with an ambitious, hands-on CEO and knows when to push back • Bonus: experience integrating product lines after a merger or acquisition What’s in it for You • Ultimate flexibility: We’re 100% remote. You can work from wherever you like, whenever you like. • Freedom and autonomy: We’re a high-trust team, and you’ll be given lots of flexibility to solve problems in your own way, with plenty of help from the team when you need it. • Flexible time off: We want you to recharge your batteries when needed.
