Senior Talent Partner

WunderGraph is a fast-growing startup, our goal is to bring everybody together to build digital products end-to-end. From interface design to API implementation, we provide the platform to go from sketch to product in a category-defining collaborative experience. Our North Star is to take the friction out of bringing digital ideas to life, making room for your ideas and productivity. Developers from some of the biggest companies in the world are using WunderGraph to design and streamline their API environments. We raised our Series A ($7.5 million USD) in March 2025, being backed by eBay, Karma Ventures, and Aspenwood Ventures. The culture we are creating together is extremely important to us. Read here how we are Building the Company We Always Wanted to Work In https://wundergraph.com/blog/category/culture. We invite everyone that wants to join us to understand our Core Beliefs https://www.notion.so/wundergraph/Mission-and-Core-Beliefs-20fb19e0a0ec80c09646fa9101368bceand if you want to make an impact, have your voice heard, and work in a no-BS organization where you can get stuff done, look no further and apply today so we can chat. ABOUT THE ROLE Our Senior Talent Partner has moved into the Head of People and Talent role, so we're looking for someone to take over day-to-day hiring processes for the whole company. We're growing across every team, and you'll be the person who makes sure each of them gets great people when they need them. This is a full-cycle role first. You'll own searches end to end, from shaping the brief with a hiring manager to closing the offer. Roughly half your roles will be in engineering and half in other functions, so one week you're calibrating an engineering loop and the next you're hiring for sales or operations. A lot of the people we want aren't looking, so you'll find many of them yourself. The other part of the job is building a talent community around WunderGraph. We're an open-source company with a real developer community, and hiring should draw on that. Events, content, memes, a community experiment that might not work: you'll have room to try things, and we'd rather you tried. One thing this isn't - a sales role. We don't need someone to push candidates over the line. We need someone who tells our story honestly and specifically enough that the right people lean in and the wrong ones opt out early. That includes the less glamorous parts, like a small distributed team and meetings that stretch into your evening so we can work with the US. TEAM INTEGRATION • Reports to: Head of People and Talent • Collaborates closely with: every hiring manager across engineering and non-engineering teams, plus the CEO, COO, VP of Sales and our engineering principals on key hires • Acts as each hiring manager's partner on a search, not an order-taker: shaping the brief, setting the bar together, and holding the process to it ROLE OBJECTIVES You are succeeding if: • Hiring managers across engineering and non-engineering teams get strong shortlists when they need them, not a quarter later. • Regardless of source, the candidates are some of the best talent around, rather than people who happened to apply - and you can recognise the difference. • Every search you run has a clear brief, a consistent structured process, and no candidate waiting more than 3 days to hear from us. • The people you hire are still here and doing well a year on. We scaled sustainably, not just quickly. • A talent community exists around WunderGraph that didn't before: people who know us, follow what we do, and raise their hand when the right role opens. • Candidates keep telling us ours is the best hiring process they've been through, including the ones we don't hire. You keep it that way as we hire more. • Hiring managers trust your judgement enough to change their minds when you push back on a brief, and leadership trusts the plan because your hiring metrics are clear. • Our hiring processes are better because you changed them, not just because you ran them. ROLE TASKS The role focuses on, but is not limited to: Full-cycle recruiting • Running multiple searches at once across engineering and non-engineering teams, from intake to accepted offer, prioritised by urgency • Running role kickoffs with hiring managers to agree outcomes, competencies and the interview loop • Writing job profiles and adverts with the People team, tailored to each audience • Pre-screening candidates and sharing shortlists with a clear recommendation • Coordinating interviews and running debriefs, with blind scorecards in Ashby before any group discussion • Keeping every candidate updated, with no one waiting more than 3 days to hear from us • Managing offers and closing candidates honestly, without pressure, ensuring each conversation with the candidates is meaningful and insightful for both us and the candidate. Sourcing • Finding and engaging people who aren't looking, …

ABOUT THE ROLE As a Senior Product Designer at WunderGraph, you are the connection between what our users will find most helpful and what our engineers build. Considering the users also happen to be other developers, this becomes an interesting challenge to think about the Developer Experience as the User Experience. You combine sharp user insight, craft, and pragmatism to deliver experiences that are elegant, usable, and built to scale. This is a wide-reaching role, as design roles at a startup should be. One week you might be running user interviews to shape a new feature; the next, refining our design system or designing a marketing landing page. You ground your work in evidence rather than assumption, partner closely with product and engineering, and turn what you learn about users into a clear, informed UX strategy that guides where we go next. TEAM INTEGRATION • Reports to the VP of Product; is part of the Product team • Aligns closely with the CEO (Product) and Head of Customer Success (customer experience and business impact) • Collaborate within the Product team with the Delivery Lead and the Design Engineer • Collaborates cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, product, and customer success ROLE OBJECTIVES You are successful if you: • Take ownership of the complete design lifecycle, bridging the gap between initial discovery and final delivery for web and product interfaces. • Cultivate an evidence-based UX strategy that leverages user research and data to steer the product's evolution. • Oversee the growth of a unified and extensible design system that spans both our product and marketing efforts. • Convert user insights and organizational objectives into pragmatic, human-centric solutions engineered for long-term scalability. • Advocate for excellence in accessibility, responsiveness, and performance as fundamental pillars of your craft. • Provide mentorship to the team, sharing expertise in research methodologies and design principles. • Refine the visual and functional identity of WunderGraph through meticulous and high-impact design work. • Impact high-level product strategy by demonstrating how user-focused decisions drive tangible business impact. ROLE TASKS The role focuses on, but is not limited to: PRODUCT DESIGN • Design and prototype user flows, interfaces, and interactions with scalability in mind. • Own design problems end to end. From initial concept through execution and iteration after launch. • Rapidly produce wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs, exploring multiple concepts and iterating quickly. • Define and evolve our design system and component library, keeping it consistent and maintainable. • Partner closely with engineers on feasibility, quality, and handoff, contributing to technical decisions (and coding where you're comfortable and it helps as a plus, not a requirement). • Introduce advanced prototyping, interaction design, and motion practices. UX RESEARCH & STRATEGY • Plan and conduct user research across discovery and validation via user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and competitor analysis. • Turn ambiguous product questions into decision-grade research that maps to real product and design decisions. • Synthesize findings into clear insights, personas, journey maps, and opportunity areas that the team can act on. • Build and maintain a shared insight repository so learning is reusable, searchable, and available to everyone. • Translate research into an informed, evolving UX strategy that guides the roadmap and anchors design direction in real user needs. • Advocate for the user in prioritization and roadmap discussions, and define what "better" looks like through clear UX success metrics. • Run discovery workshops and share …

ABOUT THE ROLE We're building WunderGraph Cosmo, the open-source GraphQL Federation solution. Probably the most important component of Cosmo is the Cosmo Router, which - simply put - connects all API endpoints and handles the GraphQL requests and responses whilst applying the Federation protocol (among other magical things, like normalization, execution planning etc.). Fully written in Go, it's the fastest GraphQL Router available and a quite potent (and complex) piece of cutting-edge open-source software. How about joining our team to make it even better and strap the rocket boosters onto GraphQL Federation? TEAM INTEGRATION • You align with the Product team and Customer Success teams for product feedback • You support and consult with the engineering team. YOU WILL BE IN CHARGE OF • Develop, refactor and maintain GraphQL Go Tools' (Router) open-source code base in Golang (low GC code) • Work closely with your engineering team mates on new Router capabilities (e.g. Open Federation, new data sources) • Focus on performance, security and stability of the Router • Review Router telemetry to identify areas of improvement • Run internal penetration tests of the Router • Troubleshoot Router issues, potentially together with our customers' engineers • Analyze and accept up open-source contributions on Github The "Engine" is essentially a Golang application which translates GraphQL requests into any other protocol, like OpenAPI, SOAP, gRPC, GraphQL, Apollo Federation, etc. You could consider the Engine as a "GraphQL Compiler" or Transpiler. The Engine is responsible for parsing, normalization, execution planning, execution runtime, etc... If you are interested in working with ASTs, AST transformations, etc... you will love this kind of work. We have performance requirements, so you should be proficient in writing performant and low GC code in Golang. Some of your tasks will take more than a few weeks to complete, Ideally, you're someone who likes to go deep on one topic instead of going wide and shallow on many different topics. Here's a list of things you might be working on: • Extend the Compiler "backend" to support Apollo Federation v2 • Extend the Compiler "backend" to support gRPC • Implement a native Go-based data source for SOAP and OpenAPI, currently we're using a Node.js based solution with a bridge • Improve the batching-implementation of the Engine • Improve the performance of the Engine in general, driven by feedback from our customers WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM • Senior/Staff level of proven Golang development experience in a leading / ownership role (must have) • Self-starter with a clear sense of priorities - no hand-holding needed • You must be willing and able to work out solutions on your own. This requires you to dig into hard problems and stay on target until you have solved an issue in a robust way. • Experience in working with ASTs, AST transformations etc. • Experience in writing performant and low GC code in Golang, and knowledge of how to benchmark Go code • You are able to work and thrive in a fully remote environment • Excellent communicator (important for a remote team) in English • You are willing and able to travel occasionally to meet the team in person (at least twice a year) or join working meetings. • You are able to work within the CET time zone. Bonus points: • Experience with GraphQL, API Gateways, Proxies, and Networking in general is a plus • Experience with OpenAPI, SOAP, gRPC, GraphQL, Apollo Federation is a plus • Existing Open Source Contributions WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE • Customers love our product because it works flawlessly, securely and fast - and because it looks darn pretty, too! • Developers love our product because of the …
