Instructional Designer, TRM Academy (Compliance)

À distanceEN

Build a Safer World. TRM Labs provides AI-powered intelligence solutions that help public and private sector agencies investigate and disrupt crime. TRM's platforms enable investigators to trace illicit activity, build cases, and construct operating pictures of threat networks. Leading agencies and businesses worldwide rely on TRM to make the world safer and more secure. The Instructional Designer on TRM Academy designs and builds the courses, certifications and learning paths that help financial institutions, crypto businesses, regulators and law enforcement understand crypto risk, apply compliance principles and combat crypto-enabled financial crime. You turn the expertise of TRM's intelligence, policy and compliance teams into published, assessment-backed training across self-paced courses, live sessions and product documentation, in multiple languages. What makes this role different: you use AI to build faster, and you own the accuracy that government agencies and financial institutions rely on when they train and certify their people. The impact you will have: • Design learning pathways for a widening range of learners. Turn the Academy's catalog into clear paths through self-paced courses, live sessions and scenario-based assessments, with a particular focus on helping compliance teams understand crypto activity, assess risk and apply regulatory requirements in practice. • Keep TRM's certifications accurate and defensible. Run the review cycle for the Academy's certification programs. Route content and exam items to subject-matter experts for sign-off, check figures and citations against their sources, and update courses quickly as crypto risks, regulatory requirements and source material evolve. • Turn expert knowledge into strong training. Coach subject-matter experts with editorial feedback so their expertise becomes clear, well-built courses, hands-on exercises and trainer toolkits for live delivery. Help learners connect technical and regulatory concepts to everyday compliance decisions. • Co-own product documentation and training across TRM's platforms. Keep help content, onboarding and product training accurate and in step with releases, connecting platform capabilities to practical compliance and investigative workflows. • Deliver content in multiple languages without losing accuracy. Run the localization workflow: first-draft translation, native-speaker review and SME sign-off for technical and regulatory material. • Make the team faster, and prove the training works. Draft with AI and own the verification, so no unsupported figure, source or regulatory detail reaches a learner. Build reusable workflows the Academy adopts, and measure both the build time saved and learner outcomes beyond completions. What we’re looking for: • 3 to 5+ years of instructional design or curriculum development for adult learners, with a portfolio of published, assessment-backed courses. • Experience building on an LMS and writing valid assessments and item banks. • Ability to translate technical and regulatory subject-matter content into practical curriculum; familiarity with crypto compliance, anti-money laundering, sanctions or financial-crime risk is a strong plus. • Production AI fluency: you already use AI daily to draft content, generate assessment items and speed up build and research workflows. • Readiness to build reusable AI workflows others adopt, including item generation checked against source and comparisons of existing modules against new intelligence and regulatory developments, and to own the human verification step. • Excellent written communication and a track record owning courses end-to-end as the single accountable owner. About the Team: • You will join TRM Academy’s Training and Certification team, which builds engaging, mission-relevant content and teaches to every level of expertise. • The work is intellectually demanding: you keep curriculum accurate across crypto, compliance and investigations, with an emphasis on translating evolving risks and regulatory expectations into practical education and valid certification assessments. • Mission-first, execution-oriented culture that values speed, high build quality and measurable business impact through education. • AI-native team: designers use AI daily to build content and ship reusable assets the whole Academy adopts. Team Operating Rhythms: • Distributed, not distant: a team that collaborates across time zones with regular overlap for syncs and content reviews. • Slack-first, async communication; @mention for timely responses. • Weekly 1:1s and team syncs, plus regular content-build and review rhythms tied to launch windows. • Close working cadence with SMEs in Intelligence, Policy and Compliance and with Product for accuracy. Account Director, Central Banks & Regulators (EMEA)

TRM helps governments and financial institutions detect and disrupt illicit finance, and this role brings that mission to central banks, financial regulators and financial intelligence units across EMEA. You will own the relationships and the revenue in a territory where digital asset supervision is growing fast, setting account strategy and closing six- and seven-figure deals with institutions that have long, careful buying processes. What makes this seat unusual is the chance to shape how TRM serves supervisors as MiCA and the EU AML package reshape their work. The impact you will have: • Map your territory’s central banks, supervisors and FIUs, using AI tools to identify budget holders, decision-makers, champions and regulatory triggers so your first outreach reaches the right person. • Win six- and seven-figure deals by turning each institution’s supervisory and enforcement challenges into a clear business case, with AI-drafted account plans that you sharpen with your own judgment. • Build and maintain 3x qualified pipeline through targeted outreach, regional events and campaigns with Marketing, and measure what converts. • Navigate tenders, frameworks and call-offs with Solutions Architecture, Legal and Deal Desk, so each response is accurate and on time. • Grow live customers through renewals, expansion and referrals, using AI summaries of usage and call notes to spot expansion signals early. • Bring supervisory and customer insight back to Policy, Product and Marketing so the next release reflects how regulators in your region work. What we’re looking for: • 6+ years selling SaaS, data intelligence or investigative solutions into central banks, financial regulators, FIUs or comparable government accounts in EMEA. • A record of closing six- and seven-figure deals and meeting quota across long, multi-stakeholder cycles. • Existing relationships within EMEA central banks, supervisors or FIUs, and credibility with senior officials. • Working knowledge of MiCA, the EU AML framework and how public sector buyers procure. • Hands-on use of AI for account research, planning and call preparation, with clear examples of time or revenue gained. • Credible, clear communication with senior executives, in person and virtually, and a knack for storytelling. • Fluent English; additional European languages are a plus. • Based in France, Belgium, Spain, Netherlands, willingness to travel regularly across the region. About the Team: • TRM’s EMEA Sales team gives each Account Director real ownership of a territory and the room to choose how to win it. • The team is fast-paced, positive and collaborative, with shared pipeline insight and open sharing of what works. • The work is hard in a useful way: senior public sector buyers, several countries, long procurement cycles, and a category that is new to many supervisors. • You will work with Partnerships, Legal, Marketing, Policy and Product, who move quickly to back your deals. Learn about TRM Speed in this position: • Within your first 30 days, you profile and stack-rank every central bank, regulator and FIU in your territory and start outreach to the top tier, so pipeline grows before onboarding ends. • When a regulator sends an urgent request late on a Friday for a same-day conversation and demo, you and TRM’s Solutions team make it happen that day. • When a government RFx lands with only a few days to respond, you rally Solutions Architecture and Deal Desk to deliver a high-quality response on time. Team Operating Rhythms: • Distributed, not distant: the team works across UK and CET time zones, with occasional later calls for US-EMEA opportunities. • Slack is the center of day-to-day communication. @mention colleagues for timely responses. • Weekly 1:1 with your manager, a weekly team call, a weekly pipeline call, a weekly forecast call, and fortnightly pod calls. • Company-wide all-hands and founder Q&A sessions keep everyone connected to the mission. Required online and collaboration hours: • Schedule: UK and CET core hours, with flexibility for occasional US-EMEA calls. GEOINT Analyst, Scams

ABOUT THE ROLE The Scam Disruption team is TRM's tip of the spear against pig butchering syndicates, romance fraud networks, and investment scam operations that steal billions from victims each year. As a GEOINT Analyst, you’ll be the team's location specialist: finding where scam compounds are, who is operating them, and how they move, then turning that picture into intelligence law enforcement partners can act on. THE IMPACT YOU WILL HAVE • Locate and map scam compounds, people, and devices • Fuse intelligence with on-chain attribution and OSINT to identify operators and controllers • Find the seams: pivot from a single address, IP, photo, or victim lead to the compound and the people running it • Partner with the Threat Intelligence Analyst (Scams Expert), the CTI Analyst, and the All-Source Lead to translate disruption strategy into targeting packages that influence law enforcement and government action WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR • 3 to 5 years of hands-on GEOINT experience: military, IC, law enforcement, or a GEOINT/OSINT firm • Works beyond the government toolkit: you can get answers from open-source and commercial tools when classified systems and data aren't available • Creative tactical thinking — demonstrated ability to pivot from a single point to a network view, identifying operators behind operations • Link and pattern analysis fluency — ability to correlate disparate data sources to generate defensible target packages • Clear written and verbal communication: you can explain your methods, your confidence, and your own role in plain terms, and write memos, attribution write-ups, and leads that are actionable • AI fluency (required) — you use AI tools in your workflow, synthesizing data, drafting outputs, and accelerating analysis, with examples of how AI has impacted your work • Crypto experience is a plus, not a requirement — we teach on-chain tradecraft; we cannot teach the targeter's instinct • Familiarity with Southeast Asia scam compounds or Chinese-run criminal networks is a plus • Location: remote in the UK, EMEA, or US (including Washington, DC). You must already have the right to work where you're based. ABOUT THE TEAM • The Scam Disruption team operates within TRM’s Blockchain Intelligence organization, alongside threat intelligence analysts, on-chain investigators, and federal partners • All-Source Investigators are the operational core, converting strategy and tooling into prosecutable, actionable intelligence • Distributed team with an async-first approach via Slack and Notion, plus structured syncs for alignment • High autonomy, high standards, low bureaucracy — work directly with analysts, engineers, and customers who depend on your output TEAM OPERATING RHYTHMS • Weekly team syncs to align targeting priorities and review disruption opportunities • Daily async standups via Slack on active work, returns, and target packages in flight • Primary time zone overlap: US Eastern / Central • All output documented in Notion and TRM’s investigative tools • Surge availability expected during time-sensitive disruption windows APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS If you’re interested in joining TRM, we encourage you to apply directly. Every application is reviewed by our Talent team. Before applying, review the job description carefully and highlight the experience and impact that best demonstrate the required qualifications. Please also provide thoughtful and accurate answers to the application questions, as these will be used to evaluate your skills and qualifications for the role. If you send your resume directly to someone at TRM, we can’t guarantee it will reach the appropriate hiring team. Applying directly is the best way to ensure your application will be considered. INTERVIEWING WITH TRM Our process is designed to understand how you think, solve problems, and deliver impact, while allowing you to evaluate TRM. Most interview processes include a case study, an AI skills assessment, and a Leadership Principles interview. • Recruiter Intro: Qualifications, motivations, and alignment with the role. • Hiring Manager: Deep dive into your relevant experience, skills, and impact. • First Round: 1–2 interviews focused on the skills most critical to the role. • Final Round: Hands-on case study. This is usually a panel-style session where we go deeper into your craft, problem-solving, and alignment with TRM. • References: Former colleagues who can provide insight into your work and impact. • Offer: Congrats! As a Global Investigator on the triage team, you will be the first line of operational defense in a fast-moving crypto disruption pipeline. You will process inbound complaint data, validate outputs from our artificial-intelligence (AI) investigation platform, and route cases into the investigative pipelines that result in frozen scam proceeds and seized assets. You will hold the disposition pen: your call is what turns a complaint into a freeze, a takedown, a recovery handoff, a legal-process draft, a victim notification, or a close. The impact you will have: • Validate and route hundreds of complaint dispositions per week, feeding a live asset-recovery pipeline. • Catch the AI errors that matter, such as false positives, merged syndicates, and misclassified scam patterns, before they propagate downstream. • Enrich complaint selectors using a stack of more than forty commercial data-source integrations. • Own clean shift handoffs so the around-the-clock operation never drops a lead, providing EMEA-hours coverage that keeps the queue moving while colleagues in other regions are offline. What we’re looking for: • Investigative or analytical experience in the private or public sector. One to three years is fine: we want hungry people who want to grow into deep crypto expertise. • Strong AI fluency, meaning comfort using AI tools as a daily co-pilot, plus the judgment to know when they are wrong. • Excitement to deepen blockchain analysis skills. • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, fluid environment where the project's scope and emphasis may shift quarter to quarter. • Strong written and verbal communication. About the Team: • The team is built around a mix of seasoned investigators and rising talent. Triage investigators sit alongside experienced crypto tracers and intelligence-trained individual contributors, and the seat is designed to accelerate your development. Team Operating Rhythms: • Daily schedule: standard business hours in your local time zone. • Collaboration: coordinate with global teammates for handoffs on time-sensitive items, giving the wider operation near follow-the-sun coverage. On-Call Responsibilities: • Formal on-call rotation for high-priority events, such as hacks, law-enforcement support, and other time-sensitive matters. • Weekly rotation, with occasional weekend coverage as needed. Learn about TRM Speed in this position: • React quickly to incoming complaint surges and live takedown events. • Continuously learn new patterns in crypto-enabled crime. ABOUT THE ROLE When a protocol is drained, or an exchange is compromised, our customers need to know within minutes or hours which addresses to block and where the funds are going. You will own TRM's answer to that, end-to-end. As a Senior / Staff Threat Intelligence Analyst, you will lead TRM's hacks category: the metrics, the system that hits them, and the small contractor team that keeps it running around the clock. We align on the outcome; the approach is yours. THE IMPACT YOU WILL HAVE • Take command when a big hack breaks and act as a leader. Run the response: triage, coordination across teams, internal and customer communications, and the incident report afterwards. • Get every major hack into TRM fast. Make sure every major hack is visible to customers within hours of the first credible public report, around the clock. • Keep TRM's hack data complete and accurate. Every hack, at any size, is recorded with its entity, theft addresses, date, amount, and hack type. • Follow the money at scale. Design the system, with our Data Science and engineering teams, that carries hack-specific attribution downstream as stolen funds move. • Build the machine with AI. Leverage AI to build the tools and agents to automate key parts of hacks analysis and response, while ensuring human quality control over every output. • Explain how it happened. Root-cause the most important hacks and publish best-in-industry technical analysis that makes TRM the first source cited. • See the next one coming. Build approaches that spot vulnerable contracts before they are exploited, and get them into our product. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR • 5+ years of professional experience in blockchain intelligence, crypto investigations, cyber threat intelligence, incident response, or a closely related field. • Has owned incident response in a high-stakes environment (exchange, security firm, incident response, or CTI team): war rooms, incident reports, communications under pressure. • Strong blockchain tracing across major chains (BTC, EVM, TRON, Solana), including bridges, cross-chain swaps, and mixers. • Understands how DeFi, bridge, and exchange exploits work, and how attackers behave after the theft. • Applied AI fluency. We expect you to already be building AI-assisted or agentic workflows in your daily analytical work, to be able to show how you validate their outputs and where they fail, and to treat AI as a force multiplier. • Experience managing contractors or leading a small team. • Writes and briefs clearly, from technical deep-dives to executive summaries. • Hands-on and highly accountable: does the hardest work, not only coordinates it. NICE TO HAVE • Smart-contract reverse-engineering (Solidity). • Experience at a security auditor or blockchain analytics firm. • Experience following specific well-known hacker groups. ABOUT THE TEAM The hacks function sits within TRM's Primary Intelligence organization, alongside the Facilitation & Money Laundering (F&ML) pod. You will work closely with the Nation States, Cyber Threat Intelligence, and Global Investigations teams, as well as with Data Science and Engineering on automation, and with Marketing on publications. TEAM OPERATING RHYTHMS • Monthly metrics review with your manager. • Weekly operating sync with your team. • Regular syncs with your team across time zones. • A war room, run by you, whenever a major hack breaks. • On-call responsibilities APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS If you’re interested in joining TRM, we encourage you to apply directly.
