Responsibilities Engineering & Team Leadership • Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed team of engineers working on k0s, k0smotron, and related Kubernetes technologies. • Establish clear engineering priorities, ownership, and expectations while giving experienced engineers the autonomy to solve difficult problems. • Conduct regular 1:1s, provide actionable feedback, support career development, and participate in hiring and onboarding. • Build an engineering culture based on technical excellence, pragmatism, transparency, collaboration, and ownership. • Develop additional technical leaders and maintainers so that critical project knowledge and ownership are distributed across the team and community. Kubernetes Technical & Release Leadership • Provide technical direction for k0s and related projects while working collaboratively with maintainers and the broader community. • Participate directly in architecture and design discussions, code and pull-request reviews, issue triage, debugging, and technical decision making. • Maintain deep expertise in Kubernetes architecture, control-plane components, lifecycle management, networking, storage, security, scheduling, and distributed systems. • Track upstream Kubernetes development and ensure relevant capabilities, architectural changes, deprecations, and requirements are incorporated into the k0s roadmap. • Drive engineering quality across testing, CI/CD, release engineering, upgradeability, security, observability, performance, and operational reliability. • Balance architectural improvement and technical debt against features, community needs, ecosystem evolution, and Mirantis product requirements. Open Source, CNCF & Community Leadership • Act as a senior maintainer and visible technical leader within the k0s and k0smotron open source communities. • Partner with the Community Manager and project maintainers to drive k0s through CNCF maturity from Sandbox through Incubation toward Graduation. This includes governance, security, adoption, documentation, maintainer diversity, community health, and CNCF review requirements. • Grow meaningful participation outside Mirantis by developing contributors into sustained participants and maintainers, cultivating adopters, and strengthening vendor-neutral project governance. • Serve as a visible technical representative for k0s and k0smotron across the Kubernetes and CNCF ecosystems, including KubeCon + CloudNativeCon, Kubernetes Community Days, SIGs, TAGs, maintainer forums, conferences, workshops, podcasts, webinars, and other technical venues. • Develop productive relationships with upstream Kubernetes developers, Cluster API maintainers, CNCF projects, vendors, adopters, and other ecosystem participants. Product & Ecosystem Collaboration • Work closely with Mirantis product, architecture, field engineering, support, community, and other engineering teams, including those for k0rdent, MOSK, and MKE. • Translate production experience and customer requirements into well-designed upstream capabilities without compromising sound open source architecture. • Help determine when capabilities belong in k0s, should be contributed to another upstream project, or should be composed from existing ecosystem technologies. • Maintain clear architectural relationships among k0s, k0smotron, Cluster API, k0rdent, and the broader Kubernetes ecosystem. • Serve as a Kubernetes and open source subject-matter expert within Mirantis. Required • Significant professional software engineering experience (10+ years desired), including experience leading senior engineers and open source development teams. • Deep, hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes, its architecture, control plane, and the underlying Linux, container, networking, storage, and distributed-systems technologies. • Demonstrated experience designing, building, debugging, or operating Kubernetes infrastructure beyond simply consuming managed Kubernetes services. • Strong experience with Go and the ability to review and contribute to production-quality Go code. • Experience working effectively through GitHub-based open source development workflows including issues, pull requests, reviews, CI, releases, and community discussions. • Demonstrated technical leadership in architecture, design reviews, mentoring, technical decision making, and driving complex engineering work to completion. • Strong written and verbal English communication skills. • Ability to operate effectively in a globally distributed, asynchronous engineering organization. Strongly Preferred • Existing maintainer, reviewer, or significant contributor experience in Kubernetes, CNCF, or another substantial open source infrastructure project. • Experience with Kubernetes Cluster API (CAPI) and Kubernetes controllers, operators, CRDs, or other Kubernetes-native control-plane software. • Experience with Kubernetes cluster bootstrap, upgrades, lifecycle management, high availability, and …

At Hugging Face, we're on a journey to democratize good AI. We are building the fastest growing platform for AI builders with over 11 million users who collectively shared over 4 million models, 1 million datasets & 1.5 million Gradio apps. Our open-source libraries have more than 700,000 stars on Github. About the Role Roles at Hugging Face are very fluid and dynamic — we are looking for someone who is comfortable taking on different challenges that will evolve over time. You'll join the Applications team, whose goal is to build the tooling that helps developers create machine learning applications on top of the primitives we offer on the Hub: Gradio , Spaces , Inference Providers, Datasets, Xet, and more. Concretely, that means maintaining and growing libraries like Trackio , a local-first, agent-friendly experiment tracking platform, FastRTC , our library for real-time audio and video streaming in Python, and Gradio itself, used by more than 1 million developers each month. These tools have made machine learning accessible to a wide audience — for the first time in history, anyone with an internet connection can use cutting-edge models right from their browser. Several of these libraries are still early in their life, and new ones will start from scratch. A large part of this role is taking a project from its first users to widespread adoption: shaping the API, shipping fast, and getting it into developers' hands. Key responsibilities include: • Designing, developing, and maintaining core features across the team's libraries, ensuring scalability, reliability, and ease of use for ML developers. • Architecting complex Python projects and frameworks that serve as foundational tools for the ML community. • Growing early-stage libraries: defining the API surface, writing the demos and documentation that make them click, and driving adoption in the developer community. • Working on real-time streaming and networking capabilities, a core priority for Gradio 7 and beyond. • Collaborating with open-source contributors and engaging with the broader community through code reviews, discussions, and support. • Integrating modern frontend technologies to create seamless and intuitive user experiences for Python-based web applications. • Adapting to evolving engineering challenges and contributing to the direction of our developer tools as the landscape changes. Requirements If you love open-source, are passionate about making machine learning more accessible, have experience building Python frameworks, and want to contribute to some of the fastest-growing libraries in the ML ecosystem, then we can't wait to see your application! What you'll need • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field • 5+ years of professional Python development experience • Experience architecting complex Python projects or frameworks • A track record of taking early-stage libraries or products from first users to broad adoption • Professional experience with JavaScript or TypeScript • Professional experience with a modern frontend framework such as React or Svelte • Experience core-contributing to or maintaining open-source software projects Nice to have • Experience with real-time audio/video streaming or networking (WebRTC, WebSockets) • Contributions to libraries such as pipecat , LiveKit , FastAPI , or Starlette If you're interested in joining us, but don't tick every box above, we still encourage you to apply! We're building a diverse team whose skills, experiences, and backgrounds complement one another. We're happy to consider where you might be able to make the biggest impact. One more thing At Hugging Face we believe great AI shouldn't require a massive cluster, we build for everyone, especially the GPU-poor. And because we read every application, here's a small sign that you read this one too: start your answer to the first application question with the words “ GPU-poor and proud ”. No trick, no catch, it just tells us a real person is on the other side. Benefits More about Hugging Face We are actively working to build a culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusivity . We are intentionally building a workplace where people feel respected and supported—regardless of who you are or where you come from. We believe this is foundational to building a great company and community. Hugging Face is an equal opportunity employer and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We value development. You will work with some of the smartest people in our industry. We are an organization that has a bias for impact and is always challenging ourselves to continuously grow. Open Call For Founders

RemoteEN
R

About our Venture Model Build your own company together with a venture fund We are a venture fund and venture builder, co-creating new companies together with experienced founders. This is not a traditional job application. This is an open call for founders who: • already have a strong idea, • are shaping a clear thesis, • or are looking for the right partner to build a company from zero. Our model is simple: Opportunity to co-found a new company together with a venture fund that becomes a strategic shareholder and long-term partner, providing initial funding in exchange for founder equity, venture building support, and reduced early-stage risk. What co-creating a company with us really means By building a company together with our venture fund, you gain: Initial funding in exchange for equity We provide pre-seed capital from day one to: • validate your idea, • build the MVP, • reach early Product–Market Fit, • start sales • and prepare the company for further investment rounds. You do not need to raise capital before you can start building. A strategic shareholder, not a passive investor We do not only invest capital. We become an active co-founder and long-term shareholder , supporting you in: • company strategy and positioning, • product and technology decisions, • hiring the first team, • fundraising preparation and investor communication, • governance and company structure. You build the company with full founder responsibility, with an experienced institutional partner at your side. Lower personal financial risk at the earliest stage Unlike classic bootstrapping or pure equity-only founding: • you receive stable remuneration while building the company, • you keep significant equity, • you can focus on building rather than surviving. This allows you to take bold risks without personal financial instability. Access to a full venture building platform From the first week, you get access to: • legal setup and incorporation, • finance, accounting, and reporting, • HR and hiring support, • product, design, and engineering resources, • fundraising and investor network. You focus on building the company - we remove the operational friction. Faster path from idea to real company We help you: • validate your idea with real customers, • incorporate quickly and correctly, with proper corporate governance • move from idea to functioning startup in weeks/months, not years. Speed matters in early-stage ventures. We optimise for it. Credibility for future fundraising Being backed by an established venture fund gives you: • higher credibility with angels and VCs, • easier access to follow-on funding, • better documentation and materials, • stronger signalling in competitive markets. We actively prepare you for the next funding rounds. Founder autonomy with strong institutional support You remain a true founder: • you define the vision, • you lead the company, • you build the team, • you own significant equity. At the same time, you are not alone. You build with a partner who has already built and funded multiple ventures. Who this model is for This open call is for people who: • Have a strong startup idea or thesis they want to build a company around. • Have a proven track record in startups or early-stage ventures. • Have already built product PMF, 01 technology, or 01 revenue. • Want to be a true founder, not an employee. • Are ready to take full responsibility for building a company. Typical profiles: • CEO / CPO with a product-driven idea, • CTO / VP Engineering with a strong technical vision, • CRO / Business founder with a market thesis and sales edge. What happens next Our process is designed to evaluate both: • the founder, • and the idea. Typical steps: • Intro conversation (founder + venture partner) • Deep dive into your idea/thesis • Joint validation plan • Agreement on venture scope, equity, and funding • Company creation and build phase Apply as a Founder. Bring your idea. Let’s build a company together.
