About Dune Dune's mission is to make onchain finance observable. We're the industry standard for onchain data: a blockchain data and intelligence provider that institutions, protocols, and analysts trust to understand the onchain world and the frontiers of finance. We deliver structured datasets, spanning stablecoins, RWAs, tokens, lending, trading, and more, from 130+ chains and counting, to 1,000+ industry leaders including Visa, WisdomTree, FINRA, the IMF, Bloomberg, Standard Chartered, Coinbase, Forbes, and the Financial Times. We're a tight knit team of ~50 hard working people, spread across Europe and eastern US timezones , having an outsized impact on the industry. We take pride in being ambitious and doing world class work while staying humble and lighthearted. We believe in building open, verifiable data that lets individuals and institutions do deep research into ecosystems like Ethereum, Solana, Robinhood and many more. We're backed by some of the world's best investors. In February 2022, we announced our Series B funding round led by Coatue and Union Square Ventures, an important milestone that let us double down on our mission. If you like being challenged and want to work together with a brilliant team on an important mission, come join us. Learn more about us: About Dune https://dune.com/about Values and working at Dune https://dune.com/careers ABOUT THE ROLE Dune is building market data solutions for institutional customers who need timely, accurate and reliable financial data they can depend on. Our team turns onchain activity into realtime feeds and associated reference data along with historical data capture. You will work on our new market data platform, and help shape how it evolves to support the growing features and customer base. You’ll design systems that can grow across chains, protocols and product capabilities while making clear decisions about correctness, latency, reliability, and cost. This is a hands-on Staff Engineer role. You will be expected to turn ambiguous requirements into designs and deliverable work, implement difficult parts yourself, and help other engineers own meaningful parts of the platform. AI-assisted development is a core part of how we expect you to work, paired with strong engineering judgment and ownership of what you ship. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL • Design and build distributed systems for ingestion, normalization, processing, storage, and delivery of realtime market data from blockchain and other relevant sources. • Build and operate streaming solutions that handle event ordering, timestamps, duplicates, replay, gaps, and recovery, including blockchain reorganizations and finality where they affect customer data. • Build reliable client feeds and APIs with clear delivery contracts, schema evolution, access controls, and predictable behavior under load or when consumers fall behind. • Partner with teams across Dune on reference data models and historical data capture. • Define and improve service objectives and data quality measures. • Instrument latency, freshness, completeness, and correctness, and turn incidents into lasting improvements in recovery and operations. • You will debug independently and drive root cause analysis to a fix that holds. • Own services through deployment and production support, including participation in the team’s on-call rotation. • Use AI throughout development: explore designs, implement changes, build tests, investigate failures, and improve documentation. Develop repeatable workflows and share what works with the team. • Lead technical decisions across team boundaries, write clear designs, and mentor engineers through implementation and review. YOU MIGHT BE A GREAT FIT IF • You have built and operated distributed backend or data services with demanding reliability and performance requirements. You understand their failure modes and can debug problems across service and data boundaries. • You have experience with realtime streaming systems, including concurrency, state management, backpressure, and recovery. You care about data correctness, from timestamps and numeric precision to schema changes and corrections. • You have strong computer science fundamentals and backend engineering skills. Experience in Rust, Go or comparable languages is also valuable. • You turn ambiguous requirements into pragmatic designs and production services, and help other engineers deliver parts of the solution. • You communicate clearly in writing and work effectively with a distributed team. • Financial or market data experience at a financial institution. NOT REQUIRED BUT A PLUS • Onchain data experience: blockchain indexing such as with EVM or Solana. • Reference data experience: instrument and entity masters, identifier mapping, effective-dated records, or tokenized asset and fund data. • Experience at a company where the data is the product. If you like being challenged and want to work together with a brilliant team on an important mission, come join us. Learn more about us: About Dune https://dune.com/about Values and working at Dune https://dune.com/careers About the role Dune’s mission is to make onchain finance observable. Since 2018, we have made blockchain data accessible and useful. Our next opportunity is to build products that financial institutions depend on to commit capital, assess risk, and enter new onchain markets. As these institutions expand their activity on blockchains, they will need reliable, trustworthy and timely data to power decision making across more markets than ever before. They will need to compare opportunities, monitor changes, and integrate data into their existing systems. For Dune these recurring needs will become a substantial and core part of our business. We are looking for a Head of Product to help transition Dune into this new era. We will build on top of Dune’s existing data foundation, which already powers thousands of companies. You will decide which customers and use cases to serve first, which problems matter most, and which needs can become scalable products for institutional usage. You will identify valuable customer problems and guide the company to deliver a reliable product and grow its usage. What we are looking for You care about markets and have a background in either traditional or onchain markets. You navigate fluently financial jargon and know how market participants use and leverage data. You can set a clear direction, make difficult choices, and work hard through the details required to deliver. The job’s not finished with a PRD, a hire or a ticket. The job’s finished when the product is creating value in the hands of our customers, being recursively improved by tight knit relationships. You will work closely with Dune’s engineering, data, and commercial teams while being an integral part of the leadership team. You will report to the president. Your responsibility extends from understanding a customer’s problem to delivering a product that solves it, while navigating the requirements from a large customer base. You should be equally comfortable discussing an institution’s data requirements and deciding what the team must deliver this week. In this role you will • Define the product strategy for market data and institutional customers. Decide which customers, problems, and products deserve our attention. • Own the product experience from data creation to delivery. Set clear requirements for coverage, accuracy, consistency, and timeliness. • Understand how financial institutions consume data. Turn their research, investment, trading, and operational needs into clear product priorities. • Work with engineering and data teams to deliver reliable datasets, data feeds, and integrations that fit customer systems. • Make explicit decisions about scope, quality, and delivery dates. Resolve dependencies and keep important work moving. • Partner with Product Marketing, Sales and other teams on customer evaluations, pricing, and adoption. Convert repeated customer needs into products we can serve at scale. • Define how we measure success of our products. Use the results to decide what to improve or stop. • Define and improve on our operational practices. • Leverage AI to improve our customer research, operations and feedback loops. • Lead and develop a product team that takes responsibility for customer results. • Say no and prioritize. You might be a great fit if • You're excited to spend real time with customers: on calls, in their offices, learning from them. • You have delivered technically complex data products that customers (ideally institutional) depend on. • You understand market data and how …

Learn more about us: About Dune https://dune.com/about Values and working at Dune https://dune.com/careers ABOUT THE ROLE Data Products builds and owns datasets end to end: from raw chain data through decoding to the 3000+ models and 4 petabytes we curate, share directly with customers, and replicate into their warehouses. The role will focus on the lifecycle of building high quality data: orchestrating thousands of interdependent models, propagating schema changes without breaking downstream consumers, propagating corrections. That is a software architecture problem in a data domain. This role is a hybrid: a backend engineer who thinks in systems and contracts, working on data. You will be the engineer we hand ambiguous product requirements to, and will come back with a design, a sequence, and work the team can pick up, while building the hardest parts yourself. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL • Design and build the control plane for our curated data lifecycle: dependency-aware orchestration, backfills, restatements, retries, partial failure, and recovery • Decide, dataset by dataset, whether the answer is a model, a service or a job, and own that architecture through production • Design the contracts between ingestion and curation so a dataset can be reasoned about end to end • Build alerting and data quality signals that catch real problems and stay quiet otherwise, so on-call is about incidents rather than noise • Work across Go, Kotlin, Rust, Python and SQL, choosing the right tool rather than the familiar one • Break large problems into work other engineers can own, and sequence it so we ship something useful early YOU MIGHT BE A GREAT FIT IF • You are a backend engineer who has gone deep on data systems, or a data engineer who became a strong software engineer. You ship production services, not only pipelines • You have built or materially extended orchestration and scheduling systems, and can explain precisely what breaks at scale and why • You have handled schema evolution and data correctness in a system with real consumers downstream, where a breaking change has a cost • You have built or operated stateful stream processing in production (Flink,Kafka Streams, Spark Structured Streaming, RisingWave, Materialize, Feldera) • You have strong SQL and modeling skills on large datasets, and an interest in how the query engine underneath actually executes your work • You have solid computer science fundamentals and distributed systems understanding • You debug independently and drive root cause analysis to a fix that holds • You use AI tools well enough that they have changed how you work, you understand their failure modes and dislike ai-slop. • You communicate clearly in writing and get the best out of a distributed team NOT REQUIRED, BUT A PLUS • Deep experience with a transformation framework such as dbt or SQLMesh: specifically, having hit its limits and built beyond them • Data lake formats such as Parquet, Iceberg or Deltalog • Stateful stream processing in production (Flink, Kafka Streams, Spark Structured Streaming) • Experience at a company where the data is the product PERKS & BENEFITS • A competitive salary and equity package . Learn more about us: About Dune https://dune.com/about Values and working at Dune https://dune.com/careers ABOUT THE ROLE Data Foundation owns how blockchain data enters Dune, how it is represented and how it’s delivered externally. This is a role that involves thinking about large distributed data systems, recognising traditional scaling patterns and software lifecycle pitfalls, and is ideal for anyone passionate about those topics. You will be the engineer we hand ambiguous product requirements to, and will be comfortable coming back with a design, a sequence, and a set of tasks the team can pick up as well as building the hardest parts yourself. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL • Turn product requirements into technical requirements: model the domain, define the interfaces and the workflows, and navigate trade-offs • Break large problems into work other engineers can own, and sequence it so we ship something useful early • Drive high-impact architectural decisions across the data platform, and own components end to end from design through production • Work across our stack, mainly Go, Kotlin, Rust and Python where they fit, choosing the right tool rather than the familiar one • Design for correctness and performance under real volume: large-scale ingestion, distributed processing, and data lake storage • Raise the bar on design reviews, testing, and how the team breaks work down • Mentor engineers by example, in a fully distributed team YOU MIGHT BE A GREAT FIT IF • You are a strong generalist with real computer science fundamentals, and you use them to adapt quickly to new technologies and problem spaces • You reason from first principles: you make assumptions explicit, identify the constraints and invariants that matter, and derive the solution rather than reaching for a familiar pattern. • You use computer science fundamentals as practical tools. You have designed and shipped distributed data systems, making their contracts, state transitions, invariants, and failure modes explicit. You know their fault models and scaling weaknesses • You are comfortable with ambiguity : you will talk to product, to customers, and to the team, then commit to a scope and defend it • You use AI tools well enough that they have changed how you work, you understand their failure modes and dislike ai-slop. • You communicate clearly in writing and get the best out of a distributed team NOT REQUIRED, BUT A PLUS • Experience with data lakes and formats such as Parquet, Iceberg or Deltalog • Experience at a company where the data is the product PERKS & BENEFITS • A competitive salary and equity package . We believe in a healthy mix of async and sync work, so you can focus on what truly matters—no more wasted time on endless meetings! • Good health is important, so we offer private medical insurance, dental & vision as standard • We believe in paid parental leave to help you celebrate this important milestone, transition to your new life, and bond with your new baby.
