Job description

Join the ride!

As a QA Engineering Intern you learn how we keep our products reliable, from the first
test idea to a release in the app stores. You test our consumer mobile app and our
business web platform alongside experienced engineers.
We build with a lot of AI, and a machine-written test can pass without proving anything.
Careful human checks on real devices make the difference, and that is where you help.

Note: This role is a Berlin based full time internship limited to 6 months.

Your Responsibility

  • Test on real iOS and Android devices, by script and by exploration
  • Run release checklists before each app release
  • Check the web platform against written acceptance criteria and record results with evidence
  • Send API requests with Postman and check the responses
  • Write and run your first automated tests with Appium or Playwright, with code review
  • Write clear, reproducible bug reports and follow them through to a fix
  • Maintain test data and test accounts, never using real customer data
  • Effectively deploy and use AI agents

Your Experience

  • A recent degree or bootcamp in computer science or a related field, or a career change into tech
  • At least one of Java, JavaScript or TypeScript
  • The basics of HTTP and APIs: requests, responses, status codes and JSON
  • Curiosity about how mobile and web apps work and how they break
  • Attention to detail and patience with repetitive checks
  • Clear writing in English
  • Comfortable using both iOS and Android, and open to learning SQL

Highly desired

  • First experience with Postman or a similar API client
  • First experience with Appium, Playwright or another test automation tool
  • Basic Git skills and a project we can look at
  • First experience with AI coding tools, and healthy scepticism of their output
  • Basic scripting and SQL
  • Interest in security testing
  • A valid driving licence (EU category B or equivalent)

Don't tick every box? Get in touch anyway. Your drive to learn and grow matters a lot to us.

Benefits

  • Mobility: Choose between monthly MILES credits or the Deutschlandticket.
  • Fitness: Enjoy a subsidized Urban Sports Club membership for your physical and mental well-being.
  • Discounts: Access 1,500+ providers for discounts on sneakers, theater visits, and more.
  • Home Office: Enjoy the flexibility of working from our office in Berlin and from home.
  • Growth: We prioritize personal development through knowledge sharing and training opportunities (with the support from our HR Team and the Team Leads).
  • Social Impact: We dedicate a portion of our revenue to support regional social projects, actively contributing to the well-being of society and the environment. #milescharity
