Senior Desktop Engineer (Electron.js)

ABOUT US Ruby Labs is a leading tech company that creates and operates innovative consumer products. We offer a diverse range of opportunities across the health, education, and entertainment industries. Our innovative teams are driving the future of consumer-led products, and we're always looking for passionate individuals to join us. Learn more about our story at: https://rubylabs.com/about-us/ ABOUT THE ROLE At Ruby Labs, we are looking for a Senior Desktop Engineer to own and drive a new cross-platform desktop product from first commit to production. This is a high-ownership role with an unusually deep systems component. The application is not a wrapped web app: it captures system and microphone audio in real time, renders an always-on-top overlay across the user's workspace, registers global shortcuts, and integrates with the operating system at a level that requires native code on both macOS and Windows. Our architecture is Electron for the application and UI layer, with native modules and helper processes in Swift and C++ where the platform requires it. You will own that boundary, deciding what belongs in TypeScript, what belongs in native code, and making the two halves behave as one reliable product. You will also own everything that happens after the build: code signing, notarization, entitlements, permission onboarding, auto-update, and crash reporting. On this product, those are not an afterthought; they are a significant share of the engineering work, and getting them wrong is what stops users from ever running the app. You will operate as the senior technical voice for desktop within your team, setting the engineering standard for the platform. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES DESKTOP APPLICATION & ENGINEERING QUALITY • Own the Electron architecture end to end — main, renderer and helper processes, IPC design, context isolation, process lifecycle — and deliver major features within agreed timelines. • Build transparent, frameless, always-on-top overlay windows that behave correctly across full-screen spaces, multiple displays and mixed-DPI setups, alongside global shortcuts, tray presence and low-latency UI under continuous background load. • Design a clean platform abstraction in TypeScript so the macOS and Windows implementations stay isolated and independently testable, and write idiomatic Swift and C++ in the native layer. • Keep the product reliable: defensive handling of unstable platform APIs, tests and code reviews, performance, memory and battery budgets, and remediation of security-review and penetration-test findings within agreed severity SLAs. NATIVE PLATFORM INTEGRATION • Build and maintain the native layer: Node addons (N-API / node-addon-api) and out-of-process helpers in Swift and C++. • Implement real-time system audio capture — Core Audio process taps and ScreenCaptureKit on macOS, WASAPI loopback on Windows — including device change handling, format negotiation and graceful recovery from driver-level failures. • Integrate with the Accessibility API (AXUIElement) on macOS and UI Automation on Windows to read application context reliably. • Own the IPC protocol and lifecycle between Electron and the native helpers, and keep the application working as Apple and Microsoft change their platforms. DISTRIBUTION, PERMISSIONS & RELEASE RELIABILITY • Own code signing and notarization on macOS — hardened runtime, entitlements, nested binary signing, provisioning profiles — and Authenticode signing, SmartScreen reputation and antivirus false positives on Windows. • Design the permission onboarding flow — microphone, system audio, screen recording, accessibility — so that grant rates stay high and failure states are recoverable. • Build and maintain the release pipeline: CI matrix builds, signing from CI with HSM-backed certificates, auto-update, staged rollout and rollback. • Own crash reporting and production telemetry for the desktop client, and act on what it tells you. QUALIFICATIONS • 6+ years of software engineering experience, including production-grade TypeScript/Node.js. • 3+ years building and shipping Electron applications to real end users, not internal tools or proofs of concept. • Hands-on native macOS development in Swift and/or Objective-C, with AppKit and at least one system-level framework such as Core Audio, AVFoundation, ScreenCaptureKit, or the Accessibility API. • Practical experience writing native Node addons (N-API / node-addon-api) or bundling and communicating with out-of-process native helpers. • Demonstrated experience with macOS code signing, notarization, entitlements, and the TCC permission model — you have debugged a rejected notarization and know how to read the log. • Working knowledge of the Windows desktop platform: Win32 APIs, Authenticode signing, and the practical realities of SmartScreen and antivirus reputation. • Strong grasp of multi-process architecture, IPC, and debugging issues that only …

You will be fully responsible for production LLM features and the browser automation built around them end to end — prompt systems, structured outputs, evaluation, observability, and model selection — from first experiment to live release, with quality, reliability, and cost as your accountability. This is a high-impact role suited for someone who decides with data, not intuition. Unmeasured prompt changes, untraced failures, and model swaps without benchmarks are not acceptable. You work in a modern TypeScript stack — Next.js, Cloudflare Workers and Containers with Hono, Hatchet task queues, Drizzle on Supabase Postgres, Vercel Blob. Browser automation on Browserbase and Playwright is roughly half of the job. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES PROMPT SYSTEMS & STRUCTURED OUTPUTS • Design dynamic prompt templates with conditional logic and context injection that maximise generation quality • Enforce predictable outputs with JSON mode, function calling, Zod/JSON schemas, validators, and repair loops • Own complex LLM workflows (LangChain, LlamaIndex, or custom) that integrate cleanly into application logic BROWSER AUTOMATION • Build and maintain browser automation on Browserbase Functions and Playwright that traverses web flows reliably • Classify screens with a model inside each traversal, and decide what the model handles versus deterministic code • Ship automations as frozen, published workers — versioned, reproducible, and safe to roll back • Orchestrate runs through Hatchet with retries, timeouts, and failure traces that explain every broken run EVALUATION & EXPERIMENTATION • Build evaluation pipelines — test datasets, LLM-as-a-judge, RAGAS-style metrics — and score responses and screen classifications in Langfuse • Trace complex LLM chains to find bottlenecks in cost, latency, and context-window usage • Run A/B experiments across models and prompts through an AI gateway (OpenRouter, Cloudflare AI Gateway); release only on quantitative benchmarks • Re-evaluate models as new architectures emerge; fine-tune when domain requirements demand it PRODUCTION OWNERSHIP • Take AI features from experiment to live production on Cloudflare Workers and Containers, and stay accountable after release • Manage rate limits, fallbacks, and model cost so features stay reliable at scale • Resolve production incidents in owned AI and automation systems with documented root-cause analysis QUALIFICATIONS MUST-HAVE EXPERIENCE • 【5+】 years of software engineering with Node.js, TypeScript, Next.js, and Postgres, including edge or serverless runtimes such as Cloudflare Workers • Production browser automation with Playwright (Browserbase or similar): resilient selectors, retries, failure handling at scale • Production experience with dynamic prompting — content that depends on input variables and injected context • Structured outputs in production: JSON mode, function calling, Zod/JSON schemas • Experience with unified LLM APIs or AI gateways (OpenRouter, Cloudflare AI Gateway): rate limits, fallbacks, cost-effective model selection • LLM observability with Langfuse or similar: tracing, test datasets, scoring integration • Evaluation methodology: RAGAS or custom LLM-as-a-judge systems LEADERSHIP ATTRIBUTES • Decides on benchmarks and trace data, not intuition • Analytical — converts generation logs into metrics a business can act on • Iterative — builds feedback loops and improves continuously • Owns the outcome from experiment to production, and after • Verifies before trusting — treats LLM output as unproven until validated LOCATION Ruby Labs operates within the CET (Central European Time) zone. You will use Claude Code and agentic AI, plus Python or JavaScript/TypeScript, to automate accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, month-end close and the wider day-to-day accounting operation. You need strong IFRS or US GAAP knowledge to get the numbers right, because an automation that posts wrong entries is worse than no automation. Accounts payable • Invoice capture and data extraction from PDFs and email, using AI where useful • Vendor matching, coding suggestions, and 2-way/3-way PO matching • Duplicate invoice detection and approval routing • Payment run preparation and vendor statement reconciliation Accounts receivable • Invoice generation and delivery • Cash application and bank receipt matching • Aging reports, dunning and collections reminders • Credit note handling and bad debt/ECL provision support Reconciliations • Bank and card reconciliations across all accounts and currencies • Balance sheet account reconciliations (prepayments, accruals, deferred revenue, fixed assets) • Intercompany and subledger-to-GL reconciliations • Exception reports that flag only the items a human needs to review Month-end close • Close checklist tracking and scheduled reminders • Recurring, accrual, prepayment and amortization journals • Depreciation runs and FX revaluation • Trial balance checks, flux/variance analysis, and draft commentary • Management reporting packs General accounting operations • Expense report and employee reimbursement checks • Chart of accounts and master data hygiene • Audit support: evidence collection, PBC lists, sample extraction • Data pipelines between ERP, banks, payment platforms and spreadsheets QUALIFICATIONS Two things matter most, and we weigh them above everything else: 1. Strong knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP 2. Real experience with AI coding tools, ideally Claude Code, backed by solid engineering basics We accept two paths: an accountant who learned to code, or an engineer who learned accounting. Both are judged on the same practical test. • Hands-on experience building automations with Python or JavaScript/TypeScript (either is fine) • Daily, hands-on use of AI coding tools, ideally Claude Code, with solid engineering basics, shipping working scripts and agents • Ability to run local scripts and schedule jobs (cron, task schedulers or CI pipelines) • Strong knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP, shown by ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent, or by several years of hands-on accounting experience • Experience with core processes: AP, AR, bank reconciliation, month-end close • Comfort working with APIs and MCP servers, CSV/Excel data and basic SQL • Care for accuracy, controls and audit trails NICE TO HAVE • Experience in multi-entity or multi-currency environments, including intercompany and consolidation • Experience reconciling payment processor statements across multiple jurisdictions and currencies • Experience with shared cost services that invoice group companies, including complex expense splits and automated invoice generation • Experience with an ERP and its API (which ERP does not matter) • Experience building AI agents and agentic workflows, including tool use and MCP servers • Knowledge of VAT/GST and e-invoicing rules in several jurisdictions • Experience with Git, testing and basic cloud deployment • Prior experience in a finance transformation or accounting operations team • Additional languages, where our entities operate in non-English markets LOCATION Ruby Labs operates within the CET (Central European Time) zone. Learn more about our story at: https://rubylabs.com/about-us/ ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a highly systematic, hands-on Lead Creative Producer to own and scale ad creative for one of our core D2C subscription products. You will lead a team of around 10 people (creative producers at junior, mid and senior level, plus a lead designer and motion designers). You will own the creative strategy, the quality of every ad that goes live, and the results those ads deliver. You will also create ad concepts yourself, alongside the team. This is a high-impact role suited for someone who thinks in systems, not individual ads. You will analyse results in detail, give the team clear direction on what to produce and what not to, and support User Acquisition in growing the brand across every major ad network. You http://network.You will hold every creative to a clear quality standard, keep every ad compliant so our ad accounts stay healthy, and build the systems that keep production fast. You will report directly to the CMO and the User Acquisition Lead. The bar is high and so is the upside. Compensation combines a fixed salary with bonuses when targets are met, performance here is directly and significantly rewarded, and strong operators take on bigger scope fast. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Creative Strategy & Hands-On Concepting • Own the creative strategy: define the angles, hooks, and formats to produce next • Create ad concepts yourself, setting the standard the team works to. • Decide weekly what to scale, iterate on, and stop producing, based on the data. • Maintain a documented library of proven angles and run systematic competitor and market research. Performance Analysis & UA Partnership • Own creative-level KPIs: hook rate, hold rate, CTR, CVR, CPA, and ROI. • Turn performance data into testable hypotheses and retire underperforming angles quickly. • Support User Acquisition with high-performing creatives across Meta, Google, Microsoft, Snapchat, TikTok, Applovin, and new networks. • Deliver structured creative performance reviews to the CMO and User Acquisition Lead. Quality Control & Ad Network Compliance • Own quality control: no ad goes live without meeting a defined quality standard. • Ensure every creative complies with each network's ad policies, keeping ad accounts healthy with no rejected creatives. • Track policy changes and keep compliance guidelines and pre-launch checklists current. Team Leadership & Production Systems • Lead and develop producers across levels, and direct the design team through its lead designer. • Implement processes and systems that speed up creative production: briefs, templates, workflows, and automation. • Set output, quality, and testing-velocity standards, and give specific, reference-backed feedback. • Lead hiring, onboarding, and performance management for the ad creative unit. QUALIFICATIONS • Must-Have Experience • 6+ years in performance marketing, producing ad creative for D2C app or SaaS subscription products. • Proven track record of high-spend winning ads that held CPA and ROI targets as spend scaled. • Hands-on experience creating ad concepts and creatives yourself, not only managing others. • Experience directly leading and developing a cross-functional creative team, including producers and designers. • Hands-on knowledge of Meta, Google, Microsoft, Snapchat, TikTok, and Applovin, including ad policy compliance and keeping accounts healthy. • Ability to read creative-level data independently and build structured testing frameworks. • Experience implementing processes, systems, and AI-enabled workflows that measurably increased creative production speed. Leadership Attributes • Systematic operator: you build repeatable processes, not one-time wins. • Fully accountable for performance outcomes, decisive with data, and comfortable killing concepts, including your own. • Holds a high-quality bar: you do not let weak or non-compliant work go live. • Strong management instincts: sets clear direction, develops people, and holds them accountable. • Treats User Acquisition as a working partner and communicates clearly and directly in a remote environment. Senior CRO Manager

ABOUT US Ruby Labs is a leading tech company that creates and operates innovative consumer products. We offer a diverse range of opportunities across the health, education, and entertainment industries. Our innovative teams are driving the future of consumer-led products, and we're always looking for passionate individuals to join us. Learn more about our story at: https://rubylabs.com/about-us/ ABOUT THE ROLE We are building a category-defining document management platform. We are way past the MVP stage, battle-tested in production, recently profitable, serving hundreds of thousands of customers globally. We are rapidly scaling with multiple products and new funnels. Currently, we are looking for a Senior CRO Manager who thrives on ownership, speed, and building things that scale. Not a 9-5. Read on if you want challenge, autonomy, and fast growth. This isn't a hand-off role. You'll own the full optimization loop end-to-end: deep funnel analysis, hypothesis generation, high-fidelity wireframes and visual specs, working directly with engineers, and the performance outcomes that follow. We are not just looking at landing page optimizations, in this role you'll be working across the entire user journey, from acquisition through activation, retention, and monetization. The pace is fast and iterative. We ship in days, learn, and keep the engine running. We've built a compensation structure that directly rewards people who exceed targets. Top performers see meaningful financial upside tied to their impact. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Own end-to-end optimization cycles: research hypothesis design test rollout, while keeping the cycles short. • Use AI tools daily to accelerate research, ideation, design, analysis, and documentation. This is core to how we work, not an afterthought. • Perform deep funnel and product analysis across the full user journey - acquisition, activation, retention, monetization - plus competitive benchmarking to surface high-impact opportunities. • Design high-fidelity wireframes and visual specs that clearly communicate your vision while protecting brand integrity. We're a code-first team - design is built in Next.js and TailwindCSS, not Figma. • Partner with engineers to ensure flawless test implementation and rapid deployment. • Analyze results with statistical rigor and make confident scaling decisions. • Document learnings and maintain a continuously prioritized testing roadmap. • Present insights and results clearly to stakeholders, building alignment and momentum. QUALIFICATIONS • Proven CRO results: 3+ years of hands-on CRO experience, ideally with subscription or SaaS funnels, with documented performance lifts. • Funnel + product thinking: You don't just optimize landing pages. You think about the full user journey and how product decisions compound with funnel decisions. • AI-native workflow: You actively integrate AI into your daily process - prompting, prototyping, analyzing, drafting - and have opinions about what actually works. Almost a must. • Design taste: Strong UI/UX sensibility and the ability to recognize and create ideas that convert. You can build compelling, detailed visual specs yourself. • Speed and iteration: Bias for shipping. You'd rather get two well-designed tests live today than one perfect test in a week, and you keep the cycle moving. • Analytical depth: Skilled in Mixpanel, GrowthBook, Google Analytics, or similar. • Execution excellence: Remarkable attention to detail in fast-moving environments. • Ownership: Self-driven, proactive, fully accountable for outcomes. • Fluent English: strong written and verbal communication. NICE TO HAVE • Exposure to marketing attribution models, UTM parameters, and ROAS measurement. • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute quickly. • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
