About IP Fabric Join a pioneering force in network automation! At IP Fabric, we enable people to uncover the truth about their networks. Built by network professionals and industry experts, our innovative solutions are transforming how enterprises manage their networks. As a post-Series B company, we're expanding rapidly across Europe, the U.S., and beyond. Read this first This is a software engineering role on the product platform. We don't operate a cloud service. IP Fabric ships as an on-premises virtual appliance that customers run in their own environments, often with restricted or no internet access. We build it ourselves from bare Debian to a finished image and ship it in versioned releases. You'll write Python and TypeScript every week, working close to Linux, packaging, and the release pipeline. If most of your background is operating AWS/GCP/Azure infrastructure, this role will feel quite different. About the Role We are looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer – Platform to join our Platform team and help evolve the foundations of the IP Fabric product. Our Platform team is focused on making the product more stable, elegant to develop, performant, and secure. The work sits at the intersection of software engineering, Linux, CI/CD, containers, quality, and developer experience. Over the coming months, some of our biggest challenges include decomposing parts of our monolithic application into cleaner modules or services, modernizing deployment from a Debian package-based model toward containers, improving build and testing pipelines, and creating a much better local-development experience. This is not a traditional infrastructure-operations DevOps position. You will work directly on the product platform and the engineering systems surrounding it. We are hiring at either L2 or L3. Both levels are hands-on. The difference is primarily the scope you can own independently. What You'll Do • Build and improve product-platform components and tooling using Python and TypeScript • Help evolve the application from a monolithic structure toward cleaner modules and/or services • Contribute to the design and implementation of our next-generation deployment model • Help move the product from Debian package-oriented deployment toward an appropriate container-based approach • Build, improve, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines • Improve build and testing infrastructure • Make local product development easier and more reliable • Work with Kubernetes and containerized workloads • Troubleshoot issues across application, runtime, container, Linux, and CI/CD boundaries • Improve platform stability, performance, maintainability, and developer experience • Participate in technical discussions and code reviews • Collaborate closely with engineers across the product organization • Apply good engineering practices around testing, observability, maintainability, and software quality • Contribute to software hardening and secure engineering practices where appropriate L2 / L3 Expectations L2 At L2, you should be able to independently deliver a defined technical task end to end. Once the task and expected outcome are clear, you can determine the implementation, investigate unknowns, write and test the solution, troubleshoot issues, and drive the change through completion without close technical supervision. L3 At L3, you should additionally be comfortable working from a broader technical goal. Once familiar with the platform, you can identify what needs to change, break broader goals into concrete work, propose solutions, explain tradeoffs, and lead implementation. You are also expected to contribute meaningfully to technical decisions led by other engineers. What You'll Need • Strong GNU/Linux fundamentals • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills • Hands-on experience with containers • Practical Kubernetes knowledge, or very strong relevant fundamentals and the ability to become productive quickly • Experience building, maintaining, or improving CI/CD pipelines • Software-development experience in Python and/or TypeScript • Ability to independently own technical implementation • Understanding of modern software-engineering practices, including testing and version control • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English • Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote engineering team • EU citizenship or other eligibility to work in the EU Bonus Points • Experience with both Python and TypeScript • Understanding of the Node.js runtime and ecosystem • Experience modernizing application deployment • Experience migrating workloads toward containers • Experience decomposing monolithic applications • Experience with developer tooling or Developer Experience / DevEx • Experience improving local-development environments • Experience with build systems and testing infrastructure • Software-hardening or application/platform security experience • Experience improving …

Senior Product Manager– Network Discovery

About IP Fabric Join a pioneering force in network automation! At IP Fabric, we enable people to uncover the truth about their networks. Built by network professionals and industry experts, our innovative solutions are transforming how enterprises manage their networks. As a post-Series B company, we're expanding rapidly across Europe, the U.S., and beyond. Senior Product Manager – Network Discovery At IP Fabric, we help global enterprises uncover the truth about their networks. Our platform gives infrastructure, security, and operations teams the visibility they need to understand complex hybrid networks, reduce risk, and make better decisions. We are expanding our Product team with a Senior Product Manager to lead the Network Discovery product area, one of the most critical foundations of our platform. Network Discovery is where IP Fabric earns trust: collecting, interpreting, normalising, and modelling network data across vendors, technologies, and environments. This role is for a product leader with strong judgement, high ownership, and the ability to turn complex technical and customer problems into clear product decisions. You do not need to be a deep networking expert from day one, but you must be willing to go deep, learn fast, work closely with technical teams, and make sound decisions in ambiguity. We are looking for someone who is hands-on, pragmatic, and outcome-driven. Someone who does not wait for perfect information but can gather enough signal, make the right trade-offs, and move the product forward. In this role, you will • Lead the Network Discovery product area, including discovery capabilities, vendor and technology support, data quality, scalability, and related platform foundations. • Make high-quality product decisions in complex and ambiguous situations, balancing customer needs, technical constraints, business impact, and long-term product direction. • Work hands-on with Engineering, UX, Field teams, and customers to understand problems deeply, validate priorities, and turn discovery insights into clear product scope. • Own roadmap decisions for your area, including what we build, what we defer, and what we deliberately choose not to do. • Drive measurable customer outcomes by improving the reliability, coverage, speed, and usefulness of IP Fabric's network discovery capabilities. • Translate technical complexity into clear priorities, crisp problem statements, and actionable delivery plans. • Use customer evidence, product data, field input, and technical judgement to make prioritisation decisions, not just stakeholder pressure or the loudest request. • Partner closely with Engineering to shape solutions, manage trade-offs, and ensure we deliver product value with the right level of quality. • Raise the standard of product thinking across the organisation through clarity, ownership, and disciplined decision-making. • Use AI practically to improve product discovery, vendor support analysis, customer workflow understanding, prioritisation, documentation, and internal product practices. We are looking for • 8+ years of Product Management experience, ideally in B2B, enterprise software, infrastructure, platform, security, observability, networking, or another technically complex domain. • Strong product judgement: you can distinguish urgent from important, customer pain from customer preference, and strategic opportunities from distractions. • High agency: you take ownership, create momentum, and do not wait for someone else to define the next step. • Hands-on product leadership: you are comfortable writing problem statements, analysing customer input, reviewing technical trade-offs, shaping scope, and driving alignment yourself. • Practical use of AI in product work: you actively use AI tools to accelerate discovery, analysis, writing, synthesis, prioritisation, prototyping, customer understanding, and decision support. You do not treat AI as a novelty; you use it as part of how you work, think, and increase your leverage. • Strong prioritisation skills in complex stakeholder environments, especially where customer requests, technical debt, platform needs, and commercial pressure compete. • Ability to operate at both strategic and detailed levels, from product direction and roadmap trade-offs to specific feature scope, edge cases, and release readiness. • Customer fluency: you know how to speak with users, validate problems, identify patterns, and turn feedback into better product decisions. • Strong collaboration with Engineering: you can work with technical teams respectfully, challenge constructively, and make decisions that balance customer value with implementation reality. • Comfort with ambiguity: you can make progress without perfect data, while knowing when more discovery is needed before committing. • Clear communication: you can explain decisions, trade-offs, and priorities in a way that builds trust across Product, …

Software Engineer - Network Automation (Go/Python) (f/m/d)

Exoscale is the leading Swiss/European cloud service provider, offering a full spectrum of cloud infrastructure services—from instantly deployable virtual machines to S3-compatible object storage. Our mission is to deliver a simple, scalable cloud experience that enables our customers to focus on what they do best. We’re a distributed team headquartered in Lausanne, driven by a culture of openness, technical excellence, and collaboration. We value diversity and strive to provide an inclusive, flexible, and empowering work environment. About the Role Our network team builds and runs Exoscale 's network: the edge, the datacenter fabrics, and the out-of-band network across all of our European zones. We are hiring a full-time software engineer to join that team and own one thing: the orchestration that takes a network change from a merged pull request to running on production devices, automatically and safely. Today our network is described as code. Device configuration is generated from our sources of truth and reviewed in pull requests. The step after that, rolling the change out to the network, still depends too much on an engineer at a terminal. We want that to become an orchestrated workflow, with the guarantees software teams take for granted from their deployment pipelines: validated before it ships, rolled out progressively, verified afterwards, and rolled back when something looks wrong. This is a software engineering role inside a network team. You will not be expected to design the backbone, but you will work every day with the engineers who do, and what you build decides how fast and how safely they can change it. Location: Spain, Germany or Remote in EU What You’ll Be Working On: • Design and build the orchestration of network changes. This goes beyond a deployment pipeline: it coordinates multi-step operations across devices and systems, with pre-change validation, staged rollout, post-change verification, and automatic rollback. • Write the services and tooling behind it in Go and Python, with the tests, CI, and observability you would expect of any production software. • Build a test environment (virtual labs, config and state checks) that lets us catch a bad change before it reaches a device. • Extend our source-of-truth and config-generation tooling (NetBox, Peering Manager, Ansible/Jinja2) so that more of the network is described by data instead of by hand. • Make the network’s state visible: detect drift between intended and running configuration, and expose it to the team. • Take part in code and infrastructure change reviews, and raise the software engineering bar of the team. • Join the on-call rotation after a training period. About you: You are a software engineer first, and you find infrastructure more interesting than CRUD apps. You may come from a network automation, SRE, or platform engineering background. You have: • Solid professional experience designing, writing, and maintaining production software in Go, and fluency in Python. • Experience building CI/CD or deployment systems where a failed rollout has real consequences. • A habit of testing what you ship and automating what you do twice. • A working understanding of networking fundamentals (IP, routing, VLANs, what BGP is for). You don’t need to be a network engineer; you need to be curious enough to become dangerous. • Strong written and spoken English, and comfort working in a distributed team. It’s a plus if you have: • Automated network devices before (Arista EOS, Junos, SONiC), through NETCONF, gNMI, eAPI, or similar. • Used Ansible, NetBox, or comparable configuration-management and source-of-truth tools at scale. • Worked with network test or validation tooling (containerlab, Batfish, pyATS, or similar). • Experience with Linux networking and Kubernetes. What we offer: • A problem with real scope and ownership: you build the orchestration, not a ticket queue around it. • Flexible hours and the ability to work remotely. • A high degree of autonomy and creative freedom. • A modern work environment with centrally located offices and excellent public transport access. • Ongoing learning opportunities, training, and team events. We’re excited to meet you—apply now and help us build the future of European cloud infrastructure. Originally posted on Himalayas
